Dave in Green Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 Sure, TV is one of several important factors in attracting recruits. So is winning. Note that he selected the winning team from that TV broadcast, not the loser. Wonder what his thoughts would have been if the Zips had smashed BG in that game? Quote
xu9697 Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 No doubt it is important to have games on TV. But I think that needs to be balanced with having Saturday football.I have said it many times..have a limit of 2 non-Saturday games per MAC team. 1 home, 1 away.Syracuse, Indiana, Kentucky..btwn ESPN2, ESPNU and B10N...my guess is 2 of those games are on, MINIMUM.Regional MAC ABC package, can bring 1 game.2 ESPN2/ESPNU games in November in non-traditional time slots (ie..Tues-Fri).5-6 of 12 on TV, hitting plenty of kids we can and should be recruiting.I think this would be a fine balance of exposure and fan friendliness (for those that want to attend Sat football). ziptrumpet87 Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Out of curiosity, does anyone know how many if any other teams in the MAC have local TV contracts? Could this be another part of the FCC screwing we inherited? Quote
