The Zips play four of the next five games on the road.Ball State is 4-0 against the MAC East. Of course, they haven't played Akron or Can't yet. Akron has to do what no other East team has done so far, and they have to do it on the road. A win here helps erase the standings deficit created by the loss to EMU. My only advice to Dambrot in this game is to play the hot hand, even if they make a few mistakes.I really wish we had a +/- stat line. Most of the arguments over KD's coaching style could be solved with one.BSU message board

I hope the team bus made it through to Muncie without much difficulty. It would really be nice if Conyers had one of his monster rebounding games today. Can a good shooter like McNees stay cold forever? Look for his shot to fall today.

I'm trying to get people together to go watch this somewhere since the weather has taken a turn for the worst and i wont be making the trip.It's down to the Barley House or Tap House.
No cable TV, might have to head to Barley House to watch the game. It's not listed on channelsurfing.net

I could get used to the Zips being on TV. They have been on three times in as many weeks. What a treat for a snowy day. Also, the Ball State message board pales in comparison to ZNO. We are fortunate to have such a great web home :cheers:

Agreed. The Zips need to keep up the defensive pressure when Ball St makes an inevitable run in the 2nd half. The competitiveness of Humpty and Nik is certainly showing.

Can we not give the ball to either McKnight on offense the rest of the game? Chris is 2-9 from inside the arc, and Brett is 1-4 inside and 0-3 on three-pointers. Leaving your coldest shooters on the floor and wondering why you can't score is a great way to let the other team back in the game.

Just as you put that, he drains a three. Still though i agree. Brett McKnight is such a liability on defense that if he isn't scoring he should be at the end of the bench.

He drained a three, but now BSU is tied because nobody's playing defense.

It's just more of the same lazy basketball...you'd think they could put together two good games in a row.I swear Humpty or a McKnight heave up a bad shot at least once every two possessions.

They are frantic right now. They do this after half. Come out slow(lazy) and panic.

Why are Akron games like this? And I don't mean just basketball, it seems we almost ALWAYS have weak second halves. I'd love to see the foot on the floor the entire game. Don't play to "not lose," play to win, play the same until there's two minutes left if you've got a big lead. Hopefully this changes in football with Coach Ianello and crew. It's just frustrating to watch.

Have they ever come out ready to play after halftime? It's like they think they have the game in the bag if they're up by more than two, and try to coast. Keep the accelerator on and expand the lead. It's impossible to maintain a specific margin over 20 minutes. You can only grow the lead or blow the lead.

It is like they eat a steak dinner and drink a case of beer at half. No movement and sloppy ball control. The front of the rim is sure getting a ton of action on the akron end.

I love how we have a 7 footer but the small forwards are shooting inside hook shots.
and getting position on him for rebounds. zeke needs to move with authority. He kind of tip toes around down there.

I know there are alot of "Keith Dambrot worshipers" on here but i dont think we can continue to blame the players for everything that goes wrong. Dambrot shoots us in the foot alot of times with his lineups and schemes.

Well you know how much we love making him come out and switch off his man at the 3 point line so he can hurry back to rebound.
