johnnyzip84
I knew "Smurf Turf" would eventually spawn a few cousins.Link
ZachTheZip
Alternating blue and gold would have been cool, so long as it wasn't ridiculously bright.
Dr Z
Bad move, will be know as the Big M@xi P@d. Eastern Washington installing red turfThe nicknames are already flying and Eastern Washington University hasn't even begun installing its new artificial turf. The Slaughterhouse. The Blood Rug. The Bordello Bowl. Athletic director Bill Chaves was seeking attention last month and sure got it when he announced that the turf would be red. zipfan85
i could have sworn i read somewhere that the ncaa wouldn't allow any more whole field turf coloring after boise state did it. i think it said something along the lines of why boise isn't looking forward to building a new stadium for as long as they can, because they wouldn't be able to add the blue turf in a new stadium. Perhaps it was NCAA Football '10 for the 360? I know they had a bunch of random facts strewn about in the game.
Roo
Currently, there is no such rule. You can make your turf any color you want.
vmd9
Currently, there is no such rule. You can make your turf any color you want.this is true, I think the funny thing is Boise State is going nuts and are claiming that these teams are "copying" them. I think that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I've also heard they might go as far as going to court against these schools to get the colored turf trademarked. To me this is a waste of time, if they tried to sue every team that used a team color as their turf color, what are they going to school teams like oregon, michigan state, and miami? They all have green as a main color, and their fields are green! good luck boise, hope you waste millions on this and go bankrupt
GP1
As long as the field is one color with a logo in the middle, I think schools should be able to do whatever they want.Quite frankly, college football is becoming borring. Different fields might be interesting. Basketball courts are very different depending on the school. The Nazis at the NCAA need to loosen up on the rules a little.
