#1: BG (previously #3) – Back on track with a dismantling of Temple. If Jacobs is back on track, look out MAC.

#2: Toledo (previously #2) – Look for them to get back on track with Gradkowski returning.

#3: Central Michigan (previously #8) – Road wins vs Miami and the Zips put them in the top three for the first time.

#4: Miami (previously #7): Drubbed Cincinnati. Looks like they’re beginning to adjust to their new coach.

#5: EMU (previously #5): Beat CMU two weeks ago, but I can’t rank them above the Chipps just yet. Won last week vs. Can't in a squeaker…and Can't started a 5’ 10” Fr. QB.

#6: Akron (previous week #1) – Major second half letdown gives the Zips a very short stay at the top. Look for the Zips to get healthy vs. Buffalo.

#7: NIU (previously #4): Leapfrogged by teams that played.

#8: OU (previously #6) – Teams ranked 3 – 8 are all pretty even.

#9: Ken-t: (previously #9) – Getting shredded on a weekly basis. They appear horrible in every facet of the game.

#10: Western Michigan (previously #10) These guys are B-A-D.

#11: Ball State (Previously #11) – These guys are even W-O-R-S-E.

#12: Buffalo (previously #12) – Scored 21 points last week. Tear down the goal posts!

#13: Temple (previously #13): - The worst team in Division 1 football. Hands down. How many points will Miami Fla score on them if BG racked up 70? Probably 85.

Some of your picks are way out there. Here's a better assessment:

1. Toledo: They have the best all around team so far and can go undefeated in conference play before meeting BG in last game.

2. BG: Great offense but their defense is still lousy and will be all season. Against the bad teams the defense will "look" good but against Miami, Akron, and Toledo they will give up a lot of points.

3. Miami: Lost some big games but still will be in contention for the MAC crown with a win over BG.

4. NIU: Also lost a big game to Akron but a win over Miami puts them back in the hunt for the MAC West. This team is too good to not contend Toledo for a MAC West crown.

5. CMU: A dangerous team and maybe a year off from becoming one of the top tier teams in the conference.

6. Akron: Should win rest of MAC schedule this year minus BG and finish strong.

7. EMU: Another Michigan team that is 1-2 years from competing for a MAC title

8. Ohio: Solich will have his team competing hard for the next few years.

9. WMU: 3-2 is surprising to this MAC fan.

10. Can't: A bad team that continually can't produce on the field.

11. Ball St: Hope they have a good basketball team this year.

12. Buffalo: Why they are still in D1A football is unbeknownest to me.

13. Temple: Losing 42-10 to Toledo was a close game for Temple. Just ask their fans.

I think Toledo and BG could be interchangeable, but I agree with Captain on CMU earning 3rd. Polls should be fluid and represent what happened on the field and not reputation. CMU beat Miami and Akron at their place. I would put Miami four, Akron five, NIU six, EMU seven, OU eight. Nine through thirteen is a place I never want to see Akron again; hence I don't feel the need to rank it.
