TheMACer Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 The official announcement was made today to add more possible MAC bowl games. It's a little confusing because a lot of stuff has to happen, but the just of it is that there are an awful lot of bowl games an it's hard for the SEC to send 9 teams bowling each year. http://themacdaily.com/index.php?news&nid=462 Quote

MAC...Da Pizza Kings! But, we're vacating the Stop Hunger Bowl in San Fran (must be all dat pizza) for the Burque Bowl in Da Land of Enchantment. Is that an equal swap? Here's to the holidays in Boise. Will the glare be gone from the smurf turf by then? Quote
Zipmeister Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 There are no secondary bowl games; only people with secondary minds. Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 I realize the number of bowls is a little crazy, but the MAC now has 5 bowl "tie-ins" as a result. Link1 In fact, with 70 teams qualifying, there is the possibility that the MAC might even get more (teams in) should other conferences struggle to field bowl-eligible teams. A 6-6 season is almost a guarantee this year. Does RI have what it takes to get the Zips to squeeze out 6 wins? We'll see. Of course, the NCAA could change bowl-eligibility rules if they want (Link2). Link2 Quote
