Watched the entire game.

A few things:

1) Akron looked like the better team in every area. We were bigger, faster, more aggressive, and made them start panicking early. The Zips tracked down nearly every loose ball.

2) Wake played a little dirty in the second half and there was almost a fight when one of our guys got taken out from behind. In the ensuing scuffle Zarek Valentin had one of the best moments as he went to back up his teammate (Barson i believe, who was on the ground) and did a :nono: in a Wake players face.

3) After Nagbe scored he ran over to their stands where their students and mascot were. In unison they all stood and gave him the bird as he danced in front of them. CLASSIC.

4) The shot off the crossbar was one of the most beautiful shots i've ever seen, too bad it didnt go in.

5) The stadium looked pretty nice and they seemed to have a pretty good sized crowd. Though the crowd didn't have many chances to get into it.

To quote their poster deacvision7:

"All in all not the worst game for the boys as we are just so damn young that this game will be a hard lesson for them. They now see what they have to get to in order to compete at the top level in college soccer, and that can only be a good thing. They fought hard all the way through the final whistle so the spirit is there for sure.

Also, Akron fans are annoying and say some very uninformed things about the game."

Bumpkins, uneducated bumpkins, too fricking bad we have the best men's college soccer team in America. The snobs from Hooterville are entitled by the grace of God to be the best.

I think that envy is lime green.

And, did you catch "in oder to compete at the top level in college soccer"? At least he concedes that

the Zips are among the best. But, I suspect he did not proof read his rant or he would have altered

the words.

One of the most interesting things about the ACC's snobbery is how incredibly redneck their local fanbase is. I've been to Virginia/NC. Outside of tourist locations and major cities, there are some real country bumpkins that call those states home.

They still care about the civil war. The freaking Civil War. And I thought Akron fans who still cling to Mike Waddell were sad.

Probably the last thing most posters on this board should do is criticize the spelling, grammar or punctuation employed by others.
