Zips on ESPN

Sitting in my hotel room outside of poopsburgh and I've got ESPN on to pass the time before dinner and I saw a commercial for the Fall Championship Series on ESPN. Your Zips soccer team makes three cameos:

Beginning with Teal Bunbury, then Ampai with his hands on his head, and finally Zarek Valentin running with his hand in the air. If I saw correctly, we were the only representatives from Men's soccer, which is interesting considering we were the runners up last year.

Anyone else seen this?

Get out of your hotel and head down to Penn Ave, go to Rolands, great beer selection. When your done there continue down the strip, you can't go wrong with bars down there. If your hungry, go to Primanti Brothers, if you like sushi, to to the sushi bar at the Westin. If you need to do something spiritual, go to The Church, also close by.

I've seen the commercial a few times. I've been trying to find it online, but with no luck. It does seem to strongly advertise Akron Soccer more than any other team and sport. Perhaps NCAA thinks that Akron is photogenic? Either way great exposure for the Zips.

I saw this commercial a few weeks ago and mentioned it on facebook. I was then asked to produce a video and the internet made a liar out of me by not having it available anywhere I could find. Glad to know someone else saw it and I wasn't just imagining it. It was pretty cool seeing our guys get so much airtime in a commercial like that.

OT: Darren Mattocks was a Capital One Performer of the week or something like that on ESPN. Too bad they didn't show any highlights. Link is here if you're interested.

While we aren't quite that close to downtown(we are in Harmarville, working at the New Kensington Alcoa plant), I might throw those ideas to the guys for tomorrow. We ate at The Church Brew Co. our first trip down here and I was quite pleased with the sampler! Also, we ate at the Primanti Brothers for dinner tonight right around the corner from our hotel

yeah I looked for it online as well but hoped that others had seen it. Hopefully someone can DVR it and capture it!

The Strip Distict is great. If you've got the time, just walk around and pop into different joints & check them out.

And, of course, on the south side of downtown, take a ride up the Duquesne Incline if you can.
