Zippy989
AS much as we are tired of hearing about him, he's got to be sick of the "former Universtiy of Akron" tag he has been saddled with courtesy of Terry Goofy Akron Beacon Journal. I'm sure he (and most of us as well) would prefer "Current Ashland football coach." http://www.ohio.com/mld/ohio/sports/13267793.htm at the bottom under "Talkin' Everything" Eagles go 9-2... Owens is COY and former players are assistants.. Quoting "• Former University of Akron football coach Lee Owens had a terrific year at Ashland University, leading the Division II school to a 9-2 record and being named his league's Coach of the Year. He took over a team that had been 2-9 for two years in a row. He was 5-6 in 2004, then 9-2. • Some fans might not know that Massillon Tom Stacy was an assistant under Owens at Akron and then Ashland. He's having a tremendous season. Another former Owens assistant is Greg Gillum, now assistant recruiting coordinator at OSU. Two former Akron players have been helping Owens out as assistants at Ashland -- Dan Basch and Butchie Washington."
ZipDude
Isn't LO on a short list for the next head coach for the Flushes??
GP1
Looks like the same old Owens to me. Wins some games and loses the games that matter against the top teams in the league.
Dr Z
Isn't LO on a short list for the next head coach for the Flushes?? I hope so. Owens went to ZERO mac championship games in how many years? JD got there in how many? I'm glad he is doing well at Ashland. I'm glad JD is here.
