jem101
Switching to the MLS, Seattle is playing Chivas tonight, and through the first half Zakuani has a goal and an assist. He is everywhere on the pitch. Akron also got a shout out from the broadcasters who mentioned that Porter was creating a pipeline to the MLS, and that he has Akron winning by playing the game the right way. Gotta love the love on national tv!

Gotta love the love on national tv! I heard that last night, too. It was awesome. Zakuani had a great game...what moves to dribble around the goalkeeper and score that first goal. His name kept coming up, over and over. And, the crowd...the Sounders, by far, have the best fans in MLS. Sold out and most of them standing and chanting throughout the match. You could barely hear the referee's whistle at times. I would love to go to a Sounders game at Qwest Field! Seattle qualified for the MLS playoffs, by the way, and I think I heard they have the best record since July (?). That would be cool if they can keep that going in the playoffs and Zakuani and company win the MLS Cup.
plowerman78
I watched the Seattle game, and as a sounders fan i must say it was one of the best games i have seen him EVER play. Interesting note, after the game Sigi Schmid said about Steveo "I wish he was American, he could def play for the national team." high praise from one of the most respected coaches in the buisness
Z.I.P.
I watched the Seattle game, and as a sounders fan i must say it was one of the best games i have seen him EVER play. Interesting note, after the game Sigi Schmid said about Steveo "I wish he was American, he could def play for the national team." high praise from one of the most respected coaches in the buisness Second season in the league, and Zaki has ten goals -- and as the announcers should have said, "This guy should be in his senior season at Akron right now." I think he would win the Hermann Award for sure this season -- probably more than 20 goals (based on past experience). Steve has to make a decision next year whether to play for Congo in World Cup qualifying. Other factors are that a. Congo could split into two countries by then. And, b. he has the opportunity to apply for a green card and play for real for the USA.

How does that work with playing for non-native countries in the World Cup? I'd love to see Zakuani on the USMNT, Us is in desperate need of forwards right now. Valpo Zip
He can't play for the US team with a green card. Players must hold the citizenship of the countries they play for. He will have to wait around 5 years for that to happen, unless the immigration laws have some sort of expedited process for immigrants with national interest.
