GoZips Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 CRAP. It was for all intents and purposes a "trap" game. Everyone looking forward to playing tenth ranked Creighton with post season implications and along comes the Western Michigan Broncos. WMU played their arses off while the Zips looked like sleep walkers the entire game. Down right scary. WMU played a sticky "in your grill" kind of defense that had the Zips off a step all night. It was, unnerving. Did not help having WMU wearing pale gold tunics that are probably home jerseys. Did make for difficulty in identifying players. A cheap and tawdry trick if ever there was one. For a change, of late, the game officials did not inject themselves into the game. Just want the Zips to inject some life into their play. In a recent interview coach Porter boasted that while occasionally a player may not put forth his best effort, but the team will never have a bad game. Hey, coach, the team played a terrible game. They played like crap. You know it, I know it and the wiser fans know it. Oh, and for the fans who did not like my invectives... I bought a ticket. So, bite me. Quote
UAZipster0305 Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 Was there as well, agree 100% Lightn up, guys. This is not the football program. We have the best team in the country, and Porter and the captains acknowledged the let down. If this is a regular occurrence, then get concerned and critical. Don't worry though, it won't be. What a great problem to have: not playing well at all and still winning in front of a large crowd to win the MAC regular season championship. Look at what this program has given to its alumni and fans! They deserve our patience every once in a while. That is the reality of any relationship be it personal, professional, or fan-team. More on this topic in an individual thread later. Clean it up! Prove that you are classy, loyal fans! Quote

Most, if not all of them, play year round at UA and on developmental teams to be the best. Cut them a little slack when they have an off day but are still able to win. The coaches and team recognize their shortcomings. Quote
