meatwad
If we're the reigning champs, then Butler won the Big Dance. Both games were about as close. haha yep btw the WVU students were chanting "bring on akron" at the end. Guess they dont know what they are getting into. They certainly do not remember what happened here 4(?) years ago in the tourney when Akron pasted the Mountain Men 5-0. I expect a similar result Sunday. Edit: Found it. Apparently it was Five Years ago.

yazan07
Haha I kinda wanted to play Virginia again, but mostly I'm happy to see Diego fail. Go Diego Go!
MDZip
If you're looking for a positive sign, every team the Zips played this year (and beat since CSU didn't qualify and OSU got an undeserved bye) that played in the first round (Creighton, MSU, Tulsa) won their game except Oakland (who played MSU). 8 teams on the Zips schedule made the tournament. If you remove the MAC schools, 8 of the 12 OOC teams on the schedule made the tournament (pretty impressive statistic) and one of them wasn't Wake Forest and the only team that we didn't beat either. I'm still shaking my head at that one. As a comparison Maryland played only three OOC NCCA tournament participants (Mich St, UConn and W&M, of course they did have their four opponents in conference as well). With BC falling there is also now no chance of the final four having three ACC teams.
bisbee
So much for the vaunted ACC. BC and Virginia both go down and Duke squeaks by Coastal Carolina. Hope this trend continues. Ryan Finley has been suspended so Duke probably goes down on Sunday.
akronad
A couple of interesting matches on other side of the bracket. Louisville/Charleston, which should be a no-brainer. Also, Providence/OSU. If Providence can take of business on the road, then there would be a rematch of the Big East championship with Louisville. Louisville won on pk's, so who knows. It's very tough to beat the same opponent 3 times in a season. BTW, how did the Suckeyes get the seed over Providence (a much better side)? MDZip
Two of our opponents (OSU, MSU) have moved on. I love seeing teams we took on move on. Makes me feel that much better about our chances.
bUAkronG
got the ZipsZone going, hooked up to the big screen. It's a bit pixelly but glad to be able to watch the game =] Heard the announcer say that Brown knocked UConn out in PK's.

UAZipster0305
Ummmmm...what's the Akron score? Please? Good news? We won 3-2. Two late goals (<20 min left) from WVU, and they were pushing hard at the end. No way we should have let them back in it. We are more vulnerable than I thought. Not sure why the defense isn't as solid as last year. Afterall, the roster is pretty much unchanged.

Z.I.P.
Indiana up 2-0 on Tulsa at the half. Thanks guys. Mountaineers like to play from behind. Zips knew that coming in. However, as I read somewhere else, "if you allow two goals to Akron in the first half, you might as well go over and shake Caleb Porter's hand and wish him luck, cause your day is over". We need to tighten up. Hoos'yers will be tougher to score against. I expect a low scoring affair -- if it happens.
