Dave in Green
Wow! Two quick goals for the Zips. 2-0 with about 36 minutes left.
zipsfan13
The crowd looks good from what I can tell, they're just showing the edges of the field. It looks chilly but very sunny. IU is playing good defense...nothing much is open. Would someone with game access please update time and score for those without? Mahalos. 2-0 Akron with about 34 minutes left. UA Fan
You can access Zn.o but can't stream the game from GoZips, I take it? Well, your Zips have just scored twice in the space of about 2 minutes. The first was a little give-and-go thing from the top of the box. The second one I just barely caught...I think the IU keeper fed the ball to a Zip who fed it into the net. I don't have the audio on...not sure which players scored. Z.I.P.
here's a link from gozips http://www.gozips.com/newMediaPlayer/conso...=&id=408865 Took a while but I've got it streaming now. Low res in full-screen mode but very watchable for the price...Go Zips ! Yeah -- it's just a black screen for me. Waiting for 15 minutes now. Thanks DiG for the update. Let us know if there's any change. I think I'm going to call W00t on his cell...

Yep, IU's goalie made a lazy pass and hit it right back to Mattocks who put it right back in. Nanchoff scored the first goal.

Dave in Green
I watch very little soccer, so I can't say how this compares to other games. But to me the Zips look totally dominant, almost like pros against amateurs. I expected more from IU. I've only watched the second half, but IU hasn't been near the Zips goal. The whole game is being played around the IU goal. With less than 20 minutes left in the game, IU doesn't have a single shot on goal. Dave in Green
And, of course, as soon as I open my mouth IU starts getting competitive. Two trips to the Zips end and 2 shots on goal, both easily stopped. Still 2-0 with 15 minutes left.

Ya know Indiana, with the possible exception of St Louis Billikens has won more NCAA titles than anyone (and St Louis hasn't won one in 30+ yrs). IU has several players from the St. Louis club ranks, including their leading scorer. So, beating them, despite the record -- and dominating, will really set the team's psyche right going into the final three -- if we make it the final third today. BTW, my problem on Gozips.com isn't one with a pop-up blocker. there isn't any screen to pop up. I think it just is taking forever to load, and I'm on a high speed server today. Must be satellite difficulties.
Dave in Green
IU playing with a sense of urgency now. Most of the game being played at the Zips end. Zips are playing great D. Another shot on goal is stopped without too much difficulty. But it's definitely more of a game now. And, with about 8 minutes left, IU scores. 2-1. UAZipster0305
2-1 on what sounds like another scrappy goal with less than 10 minutes left. Why are we so vulnerable in the last 10 minutes of a game?

Dave in Green
Zips getting more aggressive after IU's goal and the game is being played about evenly between the two ends, but no more shots on goal. Time stopped at 2:21 for IU player injury. Still 2-1.
UAZipster0305
We win 2-1. Nerve wracking, but we get the result, and that is what ultimately matters.

RootforRoo44
Great effort by the Zips. Will Bruin was a non factor for most of the game. Also, better turnout for the Rowdies, still not as good as it could be but better. In terms of IU fans, very impressed. They came out in good numbers and their students were vocal, at least early on. The score allowed by the Zips was not a moment where they got lazy by any means. The Hoosiers made a fantastic pass to set that one up and just plain beat us, no worries everybody, the Zips played 100% the entire time. scottditzen
Great feeling to get the win today. IU came out very aggressive and set the tone in the first. I was really impressed, there seemed to be twice as many red jerseys on the ball. Second half we gained our composure, got some great pressure on them and controlled the tempo. Can't wait until Sat!!! p.s. Thanks to the dozen or so Hoosier fans getting the hill all riled up! Have a safe, long trip back to Bloomington. GO ZIPS!!!!!!!!!
