akronzips71
That was a nice stream. Why can't we do that? and why do they think they have to charge for it??
Dr Z
That was a nice stream.I agree. I wonder if it has anything to do with tv contracts? It would be silly to sign a contract that wouldn't allow you to stream like that. If the Horizon league can do it, why can't the MAC? BTW, I read others coming down on the guy that announced it. He made some mistakes and wasn't Joe Tait by any stretch of the imagination, but I think he did a decent job for online streaming. The dude even took his headset off and used his mic to do a one on one with the coach when the first half expired. I give him an A for effort. ZachTheZip
That was a nice stream. Why can't we do that? and why do they think they have to charge for it?? The Horizon league uses UStream. It's simple, it's free, and it works great. Akron uses something that they built themselves. Its complicated, it costs money, and it hardly works. First announcer I've heard that pronounced Cvetinovic correctly. Couldn't pronounce Euton though.
RootforRoo44
That was a nice stream. Why can't we do that? and why do they think they have to charge for it?? we could, ustream is easy. We've been playing around with it at ASN and with an internet connection and any feed you can put out a pretty nice broadcast. If you go to Ustream.tv and click on sports you can see that there are a few conferences that stream their games as well as plenty of high school teams. It seems sometimes that we are two-three steps behind everyone else with this athletics department and never on the cutting edge of things. Literally all Akron would have to do is plug our scoreboard feed into a computer and stream it and we would have a decent broadcast, instead of our horrible setup now. And they dont have to charge for it. It's actually criminal that they do considering the lack of quality, that it doesnt work for half the people, and that it doesnt work half the time!
