3 new offers:

ATH Chris Davis

ATH Demitrious Davis

RB William Mahone

All three from Austintown Fitch HS. Don't know whether the Davises are related.

They are twin brothers and have said that they are a package deal....to get chris (the QB and better player) then you have to take demitrious as well, whom isnt a bad player himself.

T Anthony Stanko verbals to Penn State.

I seen this guy play in person and he is a monster....but he tends to slack a bit. He has no problem getting the "pancake" block but after he does that he doesnt go to the next level very often to block anyone else.

A majority of our offers are 3*s. More than the no-star players. Consequently, we haven't offered anybody who is likely to choose the Zips. Ianello needs to focus on finding players that have talent but aren't nationally known. Right now he's offering everyone in the region with a BCS offer and hoping that someone sticks.

Looks to me like he's going after plenty of guys from both sides (highly rated and off the radar). Offering 3-5 star guys early and often is a very good tactic as a lot of these guys often have a thing or two happen that might turn off a big school (injury, grades, poor performance on the field, etc.) and its better that you have been there the whole time than if you try to come in at the last minute. As coach of mine used to say "You have to be in it, to win it." I bet you thought Rossi wouldn't choose the Zips based off his rating and the other teams that offered him.

Overall though, considering the way you bashed Ianello's last recruiting class it is interesting that you want him going after "people nobody else wanted."

Who are you quoting there?

Ianello was supposed to be a great recruiter. I criticized his last recruiting class because he couldn't out-recruit any school at all, and so we ended up with a bunch of guys who had no other offer. He needs to go after players who have some talent but aren't on the radar of five to ten BCS schools. He's recruits like he coaches, doing things that would work for a program at the level we want to be at eventually but won't work for a program that isn't at that level yet.
