Offering 3-5 star guys early and often is a very good tactic as a lot of these guys often have a thing or two happen that might turn off a big school (injury, grades, poor performance on the field, etc.) and its better that you have been there the whole time than if you try to come in at the last minute. As coach of mine used to say "You have to be in it, to win it." I bet you thought Rossi wouldn't choose the Zips based off his rating and the other teams that offered him. Overall though, considering the way you bashed Ianello's last recruiting class it is interesting that you want him going after "people nobody else wanted." Who are you quoting there? Ianello was supposed to be a great recruiter. I criticized his last recruiting class because he couldn't out-recruit any school at all, and so we ended up with a bunch of guys who had no other offer. He needs to go after players who have some talent but aren't on the radar of five to ten BCS schools. He's recruits like he coaches, doing things that would work for a program at the level we want to be at eventually but won't work for a program that isn't at that level yet.
