Zipmeister
Tomorrow is the 1st day of July. Signing day isnt for another 7 months. There is absolutely no reason to be concerned. If we start the season 0-6, then I will be concerned. If we show improvement in the w-l column, this staff will bring in talent. Why would anyone commit here this early until they see if the program is going in the right direction? Good point. What you are saying is there aren't many football players considering a college/university who go fat early.

Zipmeister
We are doing a better job than I realized: I had no idea we were only 5 verbals behind Nebraska. Keep up the good work Icoach. I fully expect you to double our number of verbals by the end of July.

johnnyzip84
Although it is somewhat troubling, I’m not panicking yet because we currently don’t have any 2012 commitments. IF the bagel continues for much longer however, I DO think this puts considerable pressure on the staff/team during the early part of the schedule. At that point, an upset (over Temple let’s say) might be necessary to build sufficient recruiting momentum to pull in a strong class. I don’t think we want to be in that situation. Dave in Green
I refuse to worry about potential future problems such as next season's early recruiting as long as there are so many obvious current problems that have yet to be proven to be resolved. The good news is that the Zips are dead even with every college football program in the country when it comes to 2015 verbals. And look who recruited him for UConn.
ZachTheZip
Looks like you're right about Stargel. ScoutingOhio usually scoops the other two recruiting services, and I forgot he was mentioned.

The head coach used to work with Notre Dame which is impressive.”
johnnyzip84
Based on THIS, I predict Fairfield LB/S James Turner will be iCoach's 1st commit of the 2012 class.Edit: the link isn't working, but it's a Cincinnati blog that says he's visiting UA this Thursday.
