MontrealExposloveZippy
Not sure who. I don't think there has been an official roster press release as of yet. However, my girlfriend is working an internship with the team as a Graphic Designer- and apparently she has heard, through the grapevine, Caleb Porter has committed the maximum amount of players he is allowed, which is 5, to the Summit Assault. Here's the article about the team's welcoming to Akron and the PDL League Akron Summit Assault A quote from the article to back my statement up: "The Akron Summit Assault will be comprised of players mainly from universities and colleges in Ohio." This is only a guess on my part, but the Cleveland Internationals roster from last summer may be an indicator of which Zips. I believe that Nanchoff and Ponikvar played for the Internationals last summer. Of course, Nanchoff wouldn't be there this year, but I've forgotten the others...I think there were about 5 or 6 then. I thought I read somewhere that the Internationals sold out to the Akron Summit Assault.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing and I looked up the roster last night and saw that Matt Dagilis was also on the squad. I guess we will find out soon enough. Yes, Akron Metro FC (Summit Assault) purchased the Cleveland Internationals. If anyone is ever interested, we usually get Board Members from Akron Metro FC who attend the Akron American Outlaws watch parties for the USA matches. Best way to get all the information you want and ask some questions in person about the club. Next match is Tuesday evening vs Paraguay at the Barley House in the Banquet Room. We'd love to have more people out. This will be the last match until CONCACAF Gold Cup this June and our last watch party at the Barley House, we'll be moving to a new soccer friendly location after this. Crew8
Did anyone go to the game Saturday? I was there, but unable to watch any of it due to working at the AO booth. 45 minute lightening delay didn't help either. David Meves was there, but playing goalkeeper for the Chicago Fire. As far as Akron Zips playing for the Summit Assault FC Kavon Afsarifard Matt Dagilis Thomas Schmitt Aodhan Quinn Michael Balogun
yazan07
I was there with the ROWDIES and we had a good time heckling Meves. It was a lot of fun but something I hope I never have to do again haha. The best (and most vicious) comment made was when one of our guys yelled out "Hey Meves it's going to be rough out there without Chad Barson to save you." I believe the Fire got a shutout. Was Meves challenged or did the Fire's defenders keep him out of trouble? Did all of the Zips play? How did they look? yazan07
It was a relatively easy game for Meves, he has definitely had tougher games. Schmitty had a few good looks and was really working out there, and it looked to me like Balogun was really hauling out there too which I don't always feel like he does. I didn't notice anything particularly outstanding about the two defenders. Matt Dagilis still doesn't impress me, and while he has been in the program at least two years longer than any other member of the team, I don't see him starting in the Fall if we have a top 10 centerback coming in. He was the captain for the team though, so that's good for him. The player who I would have liked to study the most was Quinn, and I was unfortunately unable to identify him on the field.
