Z.I.P. Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 Congratulations to the Lady Toledo Rockets who were dominating in their WNIT semifinal game last night at Savage Arena. They host the University of Southern California in the WNIT Championship game Saturday, April 2nd at 3 pm ET. (MAC vs PAC-10) Rockets win Semifinal I've been to a lot of women's NIT games. They're very competitive. I think this is very cool, and a win would be a big feather in the MAC's urban sombrero. Go Rocketz! Quote
Z.I.P. Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 WOW -- They won!! Beating Michael Cooper's Ladies of Troy before 7000+ on final night. And it appears the Jewish Jordan plays in Toledo? Hmmmm. Sounds like UT played all their games at home. This is, as far as I know, the first post-season tournament won by the MAC. Quote
msopher Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 Obviously Toledo was buzzing after the WNIT title but I cringe everytime I hear "national champions," because we all know their is only 1 women NCAA champion and they are TX A&M. Still, the exposure, attendance, name opposition, money, and extra games/practices are positives that none of us saw possible. The fact that we sold out a women's basketball game in six hours is insane let alone having back to back sold out games. I just want to see Naama unleashed in the NCAA tournament because I still think their is another level to her that would only be brought out in the grandest stage of women's college basketball. Unfortunately, we only have one more year of her. Hope this helps the conference as well in regards to exposure and recruiting. We already have 5 programs that consistently are near 20 win each season and I think Akron can get into that group next season. In the MAC tourney, you guys deserved to beat us. Just beat BG next year. I'm sick of seeing them win MAC titles... Quote

Being in that close of a game to Toledo in Cleveland, was a great experience for the youth of Lady Zips. It will be interesting to see how it the season will go next year. Quote
