GoZips Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 Top 150 player out of high school EMU also gets a 6' 7" transfer from Arkansas. Maybe things are starting to turn around for the Eagles? The article on Syracuse.com smells. Rob Murphy, EMU's new head coach, former assistant at Syracuse is seeking a hardship waiver to get his new protege three years without sitting out a year. And, obtains the services of a player recently or currently at Arkansas. How long before they find a "hardship" excuse for him? Perhaps he also has aging grandparents. Bull. It all smells. EMU soon to join tOSU on the cheaters list. Here is a clue: grandparents are older people, (I speak from experience), they die. Its a lame reason. Quote
Quickzips Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 EMU is taking the short cut way of trying to build a program. This Murphy guy is clearly not in it for the long haul with them. He figures if he can come in and quickly turn that program into an NCAA program or even win a few NIT games he'll be on the road to bigger and better things, leaving the mess for someone else to clean up after. You need to have some stability in your locker room and in your program before you start bringing in transfers and JUCO's at the rate this guy is. The only good thing for EMU is that when this blows up in their face it really isn't going to matter because nobody goes to EMU games in the first place. Quote
