While five foot seven inch Courtney Stewart might be a nice player, she's a guard.

Let's hope that Courtney is actually 5'-7" and not the 5'-5" Jae Conn is reported as.

The Lady Zips already have several nice guards on their roster. What they need

is an inside game. They need players who go after the ball. Players with moxie

and muscle to compete in the paint.

Without an inside presense the Lady Zips are doomed to another miserable

season. And, coach Kennedy will soon be looking for a new job.

Ratfink, don't be so quick to jump on the Coach Kennedy is doomed bandwagon. Remember what she started with.....a 1-27 team that didn't have many Div-I players what-so-ever. In just two seasons she has managed to turn that to seven wins and this past season signed the Div-IV ohio player of the year. MT will not be quick to pull the trigger on a coach that has to build up from ground zero, you will see more improvement next year and I would bet by year four Coach K has a winning record.

Man, any other AD would have gotten rid of her looooong ago. And that JD Brookhart...I saw that BS offense in the spring game...get rid of the guy. It ain't gonna get any better, so let's cut our losses. And…how many games has Dambrot won? I’ll tell you…Z-E-R-O!!! How can MT justify keeping a coach that has NEVER WON A SINGLE GAME!!?? I agree with fallingzips. MT is so gutless when it comes to firing his own "hires."

Both RATFINK and ZIPALUM87 have valid points. But, its way too early to start skinning the cat. The Lady Zips badly need an inside presence. Bad enough to question signing another pint sized guard. Yet, Coach Kennedy can only recruit players that are willing to come play on a program that historically shall we say "sucks"? Coach Kennedy is saddled with a program that doesn't draw flys let alone players. It is to her credit that she has eeked out a few wins. What she took over was for all intents and purposes a lousy division TWO program.

Coach Kennedy needs another three or four years just to make the program respectable. Unless, of course, some one donates lots of new cars to intice players. Believe it or not that is how some schools get their players. Oh, did I say that?

The Lady Zips are improving not rapidly but they are improving. He won't let her go yet. I am sure KD will be a good coach the players seem to like him and maybe they'll listen to him.

Things are OK in Lady Zipland. Kelly will get the 5 years she needs to turn the program around, and in a couple years they'll be in the middle of the MAC and around .500 overall. It'll take longer than that though if anyone anticipates Akron competing seriously for a MAC title.

And from what I hear, next year won't be any easier, as KK is beefing up the noncon schedule, including an opening trip to The Bahamas for an 8-team event featuring 3 or 4 nationally-ranked teams, including Oklahoma. Tell coach she's welcome over in these islands. It'll be 4 years this year since the last trip, and GoZips is looking for any excuse he can find.
