Even though their chances of winning the MAC regular season championship is just about gone, the team that looks like they're winning it, has one blemish on their record in MAC play(Toledo at 7-0-1). And we have that tie with them. I believe in this team, and the one thing this team is missing, is vocal student support. Please students, if you hate Can't as much as some of us posters, please show up at Can't today at 4pm. Admission is free, and a whole point in the Wagon Wheel Challenge is on the line. the coach throws out an insult towards Can't, "Play pretty soccer all year and then Come to a field like this that is anything but that, to be honest it's kind of a disgrace to play division 1 soccer on this field." He gets a lot of points for that comment, :screwks:

To be honest, I have to agree with Lion Girl on this one. Anyone see the field in person care to explain why the field was so bad?
Imagine the worst high school field you've ever seen. Now dump a layer of mud on top of it. Then surround it with a 50-year old crushed obsidian track and a couple of $50 portable bleachers.

When I listened to the post-game comments - it doesn't sound as if the coach is blaming the loss on the field. Didn't sound like a sore loser to me. What I understood him to say is that the team has hit the wall and playing flat. They knew coming in that the field was narrow and short which makes it tough for visiting teams to play on anyway. I took the comment as if he was speaking to the conditions due to the weather. I was at the game and the field was a mess. Standing water, mud pits etc. The shame of it is that I heard rumor that there was talk of possibly moving the game to the football field but Can't didn't want that. I can't blame Can't; as that smaller field works to their advantage, style of play, etc. My concern is the safety of the players when the field is in that poor of condition.Regardless, I hope the Lady zips can find their footing again. They played so well in the first 2/3 of the season and just look tired to me. Maybe we can squeak our way into the tournament and we can get our second wind during the tournament. I believe this is the most competitive team I've seen for the Lady zips. They keep getting better each year and the talent level continues to rise. They have set many new records and I look foward to seeing what they can accomplish in the next few years!

I was there, and the field was really bad. They were putting sand down in certain spots on the field during pregame and halftime. To give you an idea, geese were constantly flying low over the soccer field in the second half. In fact, we even saw a few of them "bomb away" near midfield...don't think any players got "bombarded" luckily..The Lady Zips' long season seems to be getting to them. Hopefully they can rejuvenate themselves and make a push towards the MAC tourney here in last week of regular season. Once they make it, they can beat anyone. This was our biggest margin of defeat on the road this year. We've had chances to win each game in the MAC against teams that are in the top 5 of the MAC standings currently...

Only the top 8 make the playoffs...Buffalo just scored a goal with 4 minutes left to play. We've outplayed them in the whole game, and they get a fluke goal...this could be the most dissapointing season for the Lady Zips since Coach Pfau has arrived in Akron...
