You're right. After eight games and a 3-5 record, there isn't a reason to press the panic button. The MAC is plenty crappy for the Zips to win a lot of games. Lots of Zips fans will be at best disappointed with a 3-5 start and at worst, furious at a slow start like that with the talent on the team. Myself, I'd wouldn't be furious, but I would be close. There is way too much talent on that team to start the season 3-5 and we need to start distinguishing ourselves beyond the MAC.

The Zips did start to distinguish themselves beyond the MAC by taking down Mississippi State.

They need to continue to distinguish themselves beyond the MAC by proving the Mississippi State win wasn't a fluke.

The MAC East is not exactly full of cupcakes this season.

The Zips did distinguish themselves from the MAC by beating Miss State but that lasted only one week. they went back to mediocrity by losing to two average teams in Valpo and Duquesne and then getting destroyed by WV.

The rest of the MAC east teams have also been impressive by beating WV (Can't) and Arkansas St and Marshall (Ohio) and Dayton (Buffalo & miami). As of now, we are not looking better than any MAC east team except maybe BG. We HAVE to beat MTSU to get back on track and put the WV game behind us.

OU needed a big late run to get by lowly(0-8) Morgan St today. An obvious let down game from the cats today. Ball St is crushing UT Martin on their own floor.
