bobbyake Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 There are so many threads in the football section asking for Ianello's head. We need one with a proactive approach for getting it done. I do not believe TW is considering firing Ianello at all right now. The only way this is going to get done is if there's a strong message sent to Dr. P from the Zips community. Let's come up with a plan. Quote

Let's come up with a plan. Tom Wistrcill will NEVER fire Rob Ianello. His bloated ego will never permit that. I love your suggestion to bombard Dr. Porenza with well wishes. TW's plan is to wait three more years and then "evaluate" his protege. Quote
Buckzip Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 I think Dr P knows their is a problem. He can see by the team record and the stands at home games. Nothing we say to him will make a difference. He knows how the fans feel. If UA can't eat the rest of the contract, they won't eat the rest of the contract. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 The message was already sent. It was sent by the people who are not buying tickets. Quote
Big Zip Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 If the Universtiy cannot eat a contract for a bust of hire then the University needs to get out of the Div. 1 football business. This is the cost of doing business and the cost of making a poor hire at AD who in turn made a poor hire at football coach. Quote
ZippyRulz Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 Well said, but even so, to attract a good candidate pool they're going to want to know they have more than 2 recruiting/playing seasons to establish their team. That and the wasted money are the rock and the hard place the admin finds themselves between. Quote
Big Zip Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 @Zippyrulz I think that is easily answered by telling the prospective new coach that the previous coach was not showing any progress. Let's face it there isn't a person here who thought this team was going to challenge for the conference title, but if we were in more than half our games and won 4 games people on this board wouldn't be nearly as angry as they are today. I agree. Ianello has taken this program backward. We're no longer even the least bit competitive. Quote

If you haven't sent one its hard to believe. Do it now if you want a change. Need to get more media writing about this. Ridenour started the ball rolling. E-mail Gaffney,e-mail Alexander. It most likely won't do any good this year, but it sets the stage if next season goes south again. Quote
BirdZip Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 In truth, Wistrcill shouldn't have to fire Ianello. Ianello shoudl resign. how can you go two seasons, have as many wins over DI teams as you have losses to lower-level teams, and still cash your $500K paycheck? Do the right thing and stop stealing! And the key will be to hold onto this ire until next year when the university calls and asks you to renew your season tickets. A lot of people are saying now that they're not going to. You need to hold to that. Quote
