anonymous hippo
Who's going to the game on Sunday? I'm still debating, it's a 7.5 hour drive, 15 hr round trip. I have work/class on Monday as well. Yet, it could be some great memories!
zipseuph
I find it rather ridiculous, yet unsurprising that we aren't hosting this one.

yazan07
Here's my question, if the ranking does matter, then why do they even have the bid process? I will buy the weather argument because I'm sure the weather will be nicer there, but is that really the whole decision maker? I thought it had to do with facilities? I have not seen Charlotte's facilities, maybe they are really nice, but isn't the pouch one of the top in the country? I would just like to hear an explanation as to why we weren't selected. I'd like this game to be in Akron as much as anyone else, but they had the higher RPI and appear to have a nice facility from looking at their website. If we were the higher RPI team, and the game was taken from us (when has that ever happened?!), we would be furious. As some have already stated, it's only a 7.5 hour drive; it's more difficult than watching at home, but not impossible. This team deserves our support; if we can possibly be there, we should be. Last night in Dallas was sweet. Let's do it again in Charlotte. GO ZIPS!

anonymous hippo
Here is my tentative plan for the Charlotte Trip: My parents (Dad is an Akron Alum) and two siblings will be in town from High Point, NC from Wednesday till Sunday morning. I would like to ride down to High Point with them Sunday morning, hang out with them for a little bit, then make the 1.5 hr drive from High Point to Charlotte to watch the game with my dad and support the Zips at 7pm. Then, would it be possible to take the bus back up to Akron after the game? Anyone with information on the bus trip would be greatly appreciated in order to work this out. Thanks. UAsoccerchamps11
btw apparently the bus is not for everyone...only students...way to go UA. I can't believe they don't have a bus for everyone. And I would like to think that season ticket holders would have a bus along with the students

I would be surprised if a university offered a bus for anyone other than students even if there was a charge involved.
Dave in Green
UA is offering a bus trip for the Zips basketball game in West Virginia Monday that is open to both students and non-students.
