AK-Zips
Can't State will be the fourth game of the year and the first MAC game on our schedule.
RobC2
Ahhh! Help me avoid reality! Please don't mention JD boosting his resume'!!!I think we all know JD's bound to be at a BCS school sooner or later, but he is building a strong foundation for us here - if we can only hang onto him for a couple more years, we may have the tradition that another coach could just pick up & run with!!! Besides, I guess Joe Moorhead is considered "the best recruiter in the MAC." But is he head coach material?Anyhow, I think we should try & schedule as many Big East schools as possible. With the exception of West Virginia, there's not a Big East school we can't compete with and beat!

TXZipFan
Actually I disagree... JD's goal is to turn this team into a BCS school. That's why he has really pressed for the stadium to seat 45k. This staff is really shooting to join the Big East... it's in their 4 year plan. JD has already turned down jobs for almost double the money. He is a very wealthy man already, money will not draw him outta Akron. The only way he'll leave Akron IMO is if the AD and him aren't on the same page but the new guy seems to be right on JD's page. His contract extension efforts and stadium push proves it. He is close to his wifes family who live near Pittsburgh. HE'S NOT GOING ANYWHERE ANYTIME SOON... IMO this program has way too much upside to even be talking about him leaving in the next 5 years. It would not SHOCK me if Akron moves to the Big East and JD coaches here the rest of his career. But then again anything could happen. Who is offering that???I agree that the size of the stadium will reveal what the University's long term goals are.It is WAY to early to talk about moving out of the MAC. I enjoy your optomistic view

liljc
I don't like talking about moving to another conference, just yet. Let's just keep on winning the MAC, let's get JD locked up and let's get a stadium built ! :macc:
