xu9697 Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/...ccording-source Not saying I wanted him, but this sounds nice: FAU believes Pelini, the brother of Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini, will bring discipline and organization, solid defense and effective recruiting. FAU is likely to employ a spread-based, up-tempo offense. Quote
GoZips Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 Carl Pellini has some personal baggage that we do not really want at Akron. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 FAU: Carl Pelini's agreement is five years with base pay of $450,000 per. Pelini's incentives are largely based off of season ticket sales (he can earn a maximum of $200k per year if they sell 24,000 season tickets, $100k if they sell 12,000). He also has some smaller bonus opportunities tied to bowl games ($20k non-BCS, $50k BCS) and winning the conference championship ($20k). - from Footballscoop.com That's the same base salary we need to offer, at a minimum. I also really love the idea of tying bonuses to season ticket sales. It forces the coach to go out and sell his program to the community. Quote

Then please just tell me you weren't one of the people campaigning for Tressel. He's like the entire baggage claim area at Hopkins airport compared to Pellini. Quote
