jem101
With the offseason unfortunately upon us already, I thought it would be interesting to see what professional clubs Zips fans support. Would also be interesting to see which league you follow the most. MLS, Prem League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, etc. As for myself, I follow the Prem League pretty closely and Tottenham Hotspur is the club I support. COYS! UAZipster0305
Seattle Sounders and Manchester United here. However, I've recently enjoyed watching FC Barcelona because Lionel Messi is the most creative player I've ever witnessed. And no, that doesn't make me a front-runner. I just appreciate quality futbol.
fknbuflobo
EPL is the most entertaining league in the world. I have followed for decades, in this order: Akron Zips Arsenal Barcelona Seattle Sounders (new)
johnnyzip84
Birmingham City (whether in the Premiership or the Championship) Montreal Impact (especially now that they’re in MLS) Hearts (Heart of Midlothian….gotta love that name) CFR-Cluj (every Zip fan should have at least one obscure favorite team outside of the Big 4 European associations)
anonymous hippo
EPL is the most entertaining league in the world. I completely agree with you! I never miss a Tottenham match... "Ohhh when the spurs.... Go marching in...." ALSO, a huge supporter of Celtic FC, wearing my Hooper shirt today. They've been mediocre at best lately, also the SPL can be lackluster. This year has been extremely exciting in the EPL though. Check out this site for the Match of the Day Highlight show of all the major leagues. Anyone go to a specific place to watch EPL matches on the weekend? Also, anyone watching the Champions League today? I'm looking to see how the drama unfolds with Chelsea. anonymous hippo
CFR-Cluj (every Zip fan should have at least one obscure favorite team outside of the Big 4 European associations) As a Zip Soccer fanatic, I'm surprised I've never thought about my obscure favorite team... After some brief research, I'd have to choose FK Partizan from the Serbian Superleague.

I follow Celtic FC a bit as well. I once played locally for Cuyahoga Celtic, founded by two Dublin dudes and one guy from Glasgow. We were as much drinking buddies as a futbol club Success on the pitch was sporadic, but we sure did put away the Guinness afterword. Go Gunners! Down Spurs! Rooting for a team like this in CL is akin to rooting for a MAC (American) football team against a BCS team.
Crew8
Good conversation! I don't have an EPL team I watch every week, but I do follow and listen to a League 2 club Northampton Town FC sitting at the bottom of the table. If we go to Conference, all hope will be lost. Juventus, Serie A has been much more exciting this season. I follow Celtic FC some. Of course the Columbus Crew. I've been trying to watch more Bundesliga. I'd like to pull for 1860 Munich, but they're still in League 2, tough to see any matches.

Anyone going to catch the matches today? This may not be the best thread to have this discussion, but I was just curious.

bobbyake
I honestly don't care for the EPL. My favorite MLS team to watch is Portland when they're at home. I love the atmosphere the Timber's Army adds to the game. I also like watching Seattle's home games as well. Favorite European club is AS Bari (where my grandparents are from). I try to watch as many Barcelona and Real Madrid games that I can because it's unbelievable how those teams perform.

We really don't have a pro team in the area so i basically just support the entire MLS, in particular the teams that have Zips alumni on them. It sounds like you like the home field atmosphere.. You'd be hard pressed to find an EPL team without an incredible atmosphere, added with the physical play on the pitch. If/when the Crew someday picks up Chad Barson or any of the other Zips in their academy (yes, including Ben Speas, even though he went to UNC), I will follow the Crew. bobbyake
As for the EPL, I don't like how dominant the top teams are over the bottom. There's little surprise with the matches. The Newcastle vs Chelsea game was fun to watch though. I don't mind watching the EPL's middle teams go at it with each other. As for Columbus. I try to root for the Crew but find it very hard at times because they're a boring team to watch and don't have a single Zip playing for them.
