Derrick Tarver the highest rated Zips @ #18.

No Jimmal Ball?!?! :tomato:

Obviously, this list can be picked apart until our keyboards blow up. Just for starters, Trevor Huffman is way over rated in my book. He had great talent surrounding him. I'd take Turner Battle over him any day. In contrast, I think that Bowdry is significantly under rated at #31. As the only real threat on poor EMU teams, he was doubled and triple teamed on the block and simply dominated on a nightly basis, putting up outstanding numbers.

Top 50 MAC players from the past 20 years Thoughts? DJ Cooper at #50 while Xavier Silas is #29, I think those could be reversed.

What a strange list.

That's one way to put it. Demetrick Shaw not on the list? At all? He was the guy that really made everything work @ Can't. This is some NBA fan's view of the MAC .. after he go through the top 8 or 10, he was out of ideas?

Shaw was probably the best defensive guard that I have seen in the MAC. He never did get enough credit.

That's how it looks, doesn't it? No Andrew Mitchell, either. Battle behind Triplett? Samarco? I could tear that thing apart if I had half a mind to.

Holy Cow! I can't believe the Cap'n hasn't chimed in yet to defend his favorite ex-Zip! ;)

edit: Oh, all right! Sheesh! Even the Great Z.I.P. can't keep a straight face over that one. I don't know who Andrew Clayman is, but I suspect he got a LOT of feedback (and very little positive) on this list. Tarver was perhaps the most, or highest recruited Zip ever (well, OK, perhaps Zeke took his place, barely), and the only JC All-American, but MAN, nobody who ever saw his selfish play could confuse him with a guy who made his teammates into a better team.

I'm disappointed to not see that little guard from Ohio, circa late 90s. He only played a year, maybe two after transferring from Wyoming, but he was as quick a guard as the league has ever seen. Anyone remember his name?

From that site's board:

"If only the local media would realize it. I get that the MAC is based in Cleveland, but covering MAC teams that are based outside of Cleveland at CSU's expense is a joke."

They do have Shaw at 46, which is still a joke. Personally, I'm with you. He's top 10, or at least top 15, in my book. Gates was certainly the meat on that team, Huffman and Mitchell the potatoes... but Shaw was the gravy. Zeke's a great defender, but inch for inch and pound for pound, Shaw is the best defender I've seen since following the MAC. Given who they represented, I "hated" that team, but I have to admit that their NCAA run was a lot of fun to watch.

With all due respect to Derrick Tarver, I'd put Jeremiah Wood in before him. When healthy, Wood could, and did, dominate games.
