FearTheRoo
Does anyone know why Nick Goddard spends more time riding the pine than running on it?? The kid is leathal from 3-point range yet he never sees playing time! In a game where our guys are not hitting from 3-point, why not put him in?? sgm405
That's all he can do, that's why...
FearTheRoo
So he is absolutely worthless on defense? is he so bad that he should just stay down at the opponent's basket and wait to shoot three? Come on! He can't be that bad that he can't play 5-7 minutes a game!!!!
sgm405
He's pretty bad. He played intramurals the year before he became a walk-on. He was ridiculous offensively - scored 70 in one game - but he was also being guarded by assholes like us lol. He is a great shooter, but I'm not sure he could get his shot off against D1 players. As for his defense, it is good...for intramurals. He doesn't have the size ability to cover a D1 opponent IMO. I honestly don't even see the need for him being on the squad...but then again, Mraz and Rybak don't impress me either...hopefully none of the three will see the floor much come next year. zipfan 81
Yeah thats exactly what you are an a***, since you don't sound like you know much. He can get his shot off, he played in games last year, Oakland, 11 points in 10 minutes. Coach says he really has stepped up in defense. Mraz, Rybak and Sowers are the same way, granted they shouldnt see alot of time, but they should see something.

I actually do know quite a bit...how would you know anyways? That's always one of my favorites...the guy who assumes he knows a person's knowledge based on one post on an Internet mesage board. If he can get his shot off and plays good defense, why does he not play over Mraz or Rybak? Neither of them have the shot that he does (assuming he can indeed get open, as you say). There's a reason Goddard only plays garbage time folks...

zip37
LET'S REASON HERE, FOLKS, IF GODDARD WAS THAT A GOOD OF AN ALL AROUND PLAYER, DON'T YOU NOT THINK HE WOULD BE PLAYING? DO YOU THINK KEITH WANTS TO LOSE ANY GAME? I COULDN'T SHOOT A LICK, BUT I COULD PLAY DEFENSE AT THE LEVEL I PLAYED (SERVICE INTER-SQUADRON) BUT I WAS A LIABILITYON OFFENSE SO THE ONLY TINE I GOT WAS GARBAGE TIME, ONE NEEDS TO BE ABLE TO PLAY MORE THAN ONE ASPECT OF THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WITH BALL AMMUNITION LOCK AND LOAD . GP1
Just what they need, more slow people on the court.
dialsfan11
Wait, are you serious, Lethal shot? Just so you know he is an outstanding 20% from three this year, and 31% from the field. If that's lethal I may walk on next year.
zipboy
The Nevada game showed that we need to get more athletic kids, not less. I like Goddard, but who is he going to take minutes away from, Middleton, Dials, or Joyce? I can't see Goddard playing man to man D against any teams #2 guard in the league. maggiemoo
I love it when fans think they know everything about a program, and none of them have ever been through a single practice with the team. That's what it comes down to. We don't know what goes on in practice. Maybe he stinks it up in practice. KD is the one that sees all the practices, he is the one that gets paid to make the decisions, he is the coach. Let him do his job.If the kid were tearing it up in practice, I gaurantee you, he'd be on the court tearing it up.

I understand why he doesn't play. i get it, but in defense of the quoted comment above: if I only played 4 minutes my shooting percentage would be low too!!! :macc:
dialsfan11
Actually, if you only play four minutes and you're good, your percentage should be amazing but that's just me.
zipfan 81
Are you serious DialsFan? Not 4 minutes, 1-3 minutes at most and usually at the end of a game, where they are holding the ball and maybe Goddard gets 1 touch.... seriously think about what you just said! Not 4 minutes, 1-3 minutes at most and usually at the end of a game, where they are holding the ball and maybe Goddard gets 1 touch.... seriously think about what you just said!Man, this is the dumbest debate ever. Look, if you don't log a lot of minutes, your %s are going to most likely be very skewed, and they can be skewed either way. You could go 3-3 and have a 3 point % of 100% or you could go 0-3 and have a % of 0%. Either way, the sample size is way too small to be indicative of anything. So really, you're both wrong. bigzipguy
All of you know, who keep up on this board, what I have said a number of times about afour guard rotation. Unless he does it in the next four games, OUR GUARDS WILL WEARDOWN AT THE "Q"!!!!!!!!
zipfan 81
agreed, i am tired of seeing dials limping around at the end of the game and joyce about passed out... it can't be that hard to give them a break for a few minutes
dialsfan11
My point is, if he's lethal as you say he should hit more than 1 out of every five. It doesn't matter how many touches you get if you're truly "lethal". Usually I would agree that small amounts of touches can't show talent but if you watch the kid play as much as I have you see those numbers are pretty accurate of his ability. There's a reason he's a walk-on. That's all I'm saying.
zipfan 81
Why don't you ask the coach and quit this dumb debate? I think "lethal" is the word Dambrot used in one of his after game shows so drop it. Coach says Miami won't let you underneath, so it sounds like there might be alot of 3 point shooting tonite. Let's hope we are on. Since it looks like Dials is your favorite player, his last 2 games he has been 2-11 at the three. That could start a debate in itself couldn't it? Hopefully he can hit some tonite.
dialsfan11
I would have to believe that Dials' percentage is less of a problem than our point guard having 15 shot attempts and going 0 for 6 from behind the arc. Someone please tell Dru that he's a point guard not a shooting guard.
