Ben Speas makes his MLS debut Sunday.

Homegrown winger Ben Speas made his MLS debut on Sunday, earning the start on the left side of Robert Warzycha's midfield. The two-time NCAA Champion provided a threat in the Crew attack, getting off three shots and creating multiple chances from the left flank.

"I think he did well," Warzycha said of Speas postmatch. "He’s a player that you always have to be worried about. His dribbling is very good, he can go after defenders and create something. It was good to have him on the field, he deserved it."

"It was awesome, a dream come true," the Stow, Ohio native expressed. "I've been working for 17 years towards this day. It was everything I expected."

"I was confident in myself," Speas continued. "I just wanted to do what I do best, whether it's dribbling at guys or taking some shots. I knew that coming out of the game, or when the game is over, I wanted to make sure I had gotten some shots in at least and show what I could do."

Did Zakuani get in the match? I fell asleep.

Yes, Steve came in late, but the Sounders still went down 3-0. Big deficit to overcome.

I think he was actually referring to the SSFC - Real SL game. Sounders learned the hard way about MLS playoffs. Bring your best game, or don't show up -- especially vs LA Gal. :(

Here's an article about how Kofi has started playing again for Houston: http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012...ust-time-dynamo

Also, I guess in all the excitement of Scott being up for the Senior Class award, among the other things that have been happening for our program, it was kind of overlooked that Darlington Nagbe in up for Goal of the Year AGAIN. He is in the final four, against Fredy Montero and Patrick Ianni from Seattle (hopefully Sounders fans' votes will be split) and the Revs' Lee Nguyen. Voting closes at midnight, Pacific time, TOMORROW. Let's do it again.

I don't know that author, but he should check his facts...Coming out of college after his freshman season, Sarkodie’s eight goals and six assists at the University of Akron made it clear he spent plenty of time getting forward. ...Kofi was a Junior when he left.
