akronzips71 Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 Come on, he wasn't even looking at the guy who basically ran into him. That's the kind of crap they pull on Zeke. Flagrant 2, ejected. Absolute bullshit. Let the players play. Quote
bUAkronG Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 He's a multiple offender. I won't forget him running over D Roberts last year or the year before up in Cleveland. You play dirty, you will never get the benefit of the doubt. Quote

Dave in Green Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 As much as I dislike bad ref calls, I can't get excited about a bad call against Stainbrook. Quote

EXCEPT: I think the league office will have something to say about ejecting their most important (?) player on a crap call. AND They could have won that game without the ejection Which means This one could come back to bite US in the ass. Personally, I would rather have faced WMU and have Stainbrook ejected against US. Let'sGoZips94 Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 I don't think it was for the elbow? I thought I heard someone say it was for how ugly he is. Either that or how much he looks like Napoleon Dynamite. Porrini probably tried to take his tots. On a serious note, it was a horrible call. It should've been a flagrant 1. He did try to elbow Michael, but not maliciously. That was a flagrant 2 because it's the MAC's beloved Can't State. Quote

WMU wasn't going to win that game with the anchor slowing them down. They were down like 15 at the time of the foul, and Stainbrook was laboring up and down the floor. They came back to get it within a 2 possession game, but ran out of time. As for the call, I agree, it was a pretty weak Flagrant 2 if it was even a Flagrant at all. But as others have said, Stainbrook has a reputation as a hot head who will throw elbows, mouth off, shove opposing players (and sometimes his teamates). He's put the target squarely on his own back with his behavior. If I were Hawkins I would just cut ties with him and be done with it. That program is going nowhere fast if he is their most important player for the next two years. Quote

Basically, Porrini ran into his elbow. I just can't stomach a call like that against anyone, especially when it causes an ejection. It is not like he was fighting or tackled the guy or threw a punch. Just like the cheap fouls they always call on Zeke. Quote

Agreed. Despite the late WMU comeback, Ken+ virtually cruised in the 2nd half. EXACTLY what you want to happen when you have to play a game again in 24 hrs. WMU could have won, or made it very difficult on Ken+. It didn't happen, and WE didn't gain much of an advantage. And that would have been the most important thing. Quote
