ZachTheZip Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 According to the Mountain West board, the starting DE from Colorado State is transferring to the Zips to follow his position coach. Thanks to a certain poster for the scoop! Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 Well I suppose the distance between Akron and Florida is less than the distance between Ft Collins and Florida. Quote
Class of 82 Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 Don't know how long this link will last, but here's his profile from the CSU Athletics site: http://www.csurams.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/james_cj00.html Looks like he was a solid contributor for them. He should help us, big time. Quote
Class of 82 Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 He looks serious. Serious, indeed. It almost looks like he might be responsible for dispatching that unfortunate bird in your sig pic. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted July 31, 2012 Author Report Posted July 31, 2012 Have to assume he will sit out this year. Still, getting a starter from another FBS team can only help, especially when the current number of players we have who could start on another FBS team doesn't seem very large. Quote
Big Zip Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 http://www.reporterherald.com/sports/csu/c...-colorado-state I don't think he is sitting out. He is a senior and this article indicates he was released. Quote

He is a senior and this article indicates he was released. Released by CSU, but an NCAA waiver is required to be able to play immediately. The CSU release just means that he is released from scholarship and doesn't have to pay his own way while he sits out. Quote
Big Zip Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 Looks like he played as a true freshman so your right this could be his red shirt year. Quote
InTheZone Posted August 3, 2012 Report Posted August 3, 2012 Maybe he's taken a lot of summer classes and graduated early. In that case, he would be able to play this year. That's probably wishful thinking though. Quote
Sergeant Zip Posted August 11, 2012 Report Posted August 11, 2012 CJ James played the last three seasons at Colorado State and will utilize his redshirt to sit out 2012 due to NCAA transfer guidelines. Quote
NewZipsFan Posted August 11, 2012 Report Posted August 11, 2012 CJ James played the last three seasons at Colorado State and will utilize his redshirt to sit out 2012 due to NCAA transfer guidelines. Yep - he has to sit out this year. He is practicing, attending all meetings etc.. Just cannot play in a game. Quote
InTheZone Posted August 11, 2012 Report Posted August 11, 2012 Well at least he'll give a great look preparing our o-line on scout team every week. Quote
