Z.I.P.
Must be close to football season! Sporting News Article At one point prior to last season, one Akron staffer gave Sporting News insight into the culture and lack of identity at Akron. “The kids would come to workouts wearing Ohio State gear,” he said. And were the coaches wearing ND gear?

johnnyzip84
Bobby Bowden has always said the best coach in the Bowden Family is Terry, and never hesitates when making that bold statement. Heck, he says it in front of his other boys, too. This sums it up for me!
CincyZip
I hope the author has proof (not just hearsay) before writing this. Thankfully, Rob Ianello is gone. I don't expect to see this under the current coaches...so, I'm not sure that it's currently "a big issue". I feel as if people here think this is Rob Ianello's fault. That since he is gone it is OK. This is not the previous coaching staff's sole fault, this falls on everyone involved. Especially the players who will be taking the field this year. It's like they don't even care about the school or the program in general. And using another source while giving credit to them is not hearsay lol. Dr Z
It's like they don't even care about the school or the program in general.Wins and coach Bowden will give them a reason to care. Hopefully we are at the beginning of a new era. I am trying to erase the last two years from my memory, can you help by leaving the past in the past? Maybe take the last two schedules and bury them in your backyard.

I am trying to erase the last two years from my memory, can you help by leaving the past in the past? Maybe take the last two schedules and bury them in your backyard. And curse myself? Hell no. The ERA of Ianello is not over still. The majority of the same players are still on the field. The majority of administration is still working at their desks. There is a huge problem and looking the other way does not help address it in my opinion.

It's also the same administration that hired TB. Is it possible to learn from mistakes?
CincyZip
It's also the same administration that hired TB. Is it possible to learn from mistakes? I think this is well said. I think this administration has done a good job overall. I don't mean to throw them under the bus or anything like that. Their hiring and signings of all of the Akron coaches are top notch. They have done a fantastic job. Also their gameday crew are fantastic. This was just a small thing. I guess you guys are right, I felt betrayed but I think I was in the wrong.
