K-Roo Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 CNN SI Predicts 4-8 Terry Bowden, Akron: 4-8. The Zips went 2-22 under Rob Ianello, but the former Auburn coach has assembled an accomplished staff. Expect improvement. Quote
skip-zip Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 Lets all hope and pray that the amazing talents of the staff has a far greater impact than the lack of talent on the field. I don't think you can expect much improvement until the players coming in are better, but I very much want to be wrong this time. Quote

Four wins from this team could put Bowden up for dadgum national coach a da year! Quote
InTheZone Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 I think that's realistic, anywhere from 3-6 wins for this team and they've met their potential. Hope they prove me wrong and exceed expectations, GO ZIPS! Quote
GP1 Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 I think that's realistic, anywhere from 3-6 wins for this team and they've met their potential. I feel the same way. I wouldn't be shocked if they only won 3 and I wouldn't be shocked if they won 6 and went to a bowl. The mac is a strange league that way. Quote

They have been out coached in every game and never put in positions to succeed. The players also despised the previous staff. Positive team morale and excellent coaching can do wonders in the mac. Class of 82 Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 Lets all hope and pray that the amazing talents of the staff has a far greater impact than the lack of talent on the field. I don't think you can expect much improvement until the players coming in are better, but I very much want to be wrong this time. Fair enough. But I think they've already added a few better players, especially on defense. I'm sure we'll need more, but it sure seems like a start in the right direction. I also like that the coaches really worked to evaluate the young men who were already here, moving several to different positions where they think they'll be more successful. Coaching can't make a weak team great, but it can make a weak team as strong as it can be. Besides, the only directions this team has to go from last year is up or sideways. I don't see it going sideways. Quote
