Leading at the half is important, but letting them score again will end our momentum. Our defense needed to make a stop.

On the other hand, we were staring at a possible blow-out loss very early on. We get the ball to start the half. That series will likely be key.

But imagine leading 20-7 starting the 3rd quarter with the ball and all of the momentum? Now we only have a 6pt lead and FIU has all the momentum. Their defense will really be stepping up.

I'm not really concerned with them scoring at the end of the half, but rather the way they scored. A few quick passes got them down the field and in the endzone. That momentum coupled with their coach getting them focused could make things interesting.

Then again, I think the halftime pep talk is vastly overrated. Never seemed to work very well for J.D. Brookhart.

I hope we win, but regardless, I see this as an indicator of things to come, I want us to get all of the kinks worked out of our new offense and defenses before conference play. I feel that we are definitely headed in the right direction.

Noboby is arguing that your scenario isn't preferred. It's the 2nd college game ever for a lot of these players. We're going to have to swallow some bad wth the good with this team, especially early on. Sure it was an opportunity lost and it may end up costing them the game in the end. But are you seriously whining about a 20-14 lead in a game in which you go in as a 23 1/2 point underdog?????

Good point, I guess I was just getting greedy. And it's tough to not see the Zips blowing this game.

As a side note Jason Taylor is in attendance.

Good to hear JT is there.

There's no doubt that a "winning football team" doesn't let that score happen like that at the end of the half. Let's hope our Zips are learning to become that kind of team, a team that smells blood and goes for the jugular when it matters.
