Does anybody know if they are giving away Fear the Roo shirts with the tickets still? And are they general admission?
GoZips88
The Rockets were up by 21 at one point and had NIU by the carrots before doing their Jekyl and Hyde thing to turn it back into a game. The Rockets aren't very big but are athletic and seemed to shoot the ball well. We looked a lot better in the second half of our game and will need that kind of effort again tomorrow night to cool off a hot Rocket team. Should be a good one. Forget TV and get down to the Q to help make it a home game for Akron. You know Toledo will be bringing a bunch of fans. Go Zips!!!!! liljc
Toledo has been hot as of late, but they almost blew it today. The Zips just kept pounding away at WMU, and showed a lot of heart. I'd much rather play the team that blew a 21 point lead than the team that came from 21 down to win.
Quickzips
I would have much rather faced NIU but Toledo isn't too bad either. They are hot right now but lets face it the East and praticularly Can't, us, Miami and probably Ohio are all probably better than any team the West has to offer. Some might argue Buffalo too. Toledo is hot right now but they may just have hit a kryptonite wall in the second half against NIU there.
msopher
Quick UT synopsis:Our post game sucks but Valencia is a stud, all 6-5 on him. Romeo against Tino will be an interesting matchup. Also, if you get our big guys in foul trouble, we have no depth there so that may be a key.Our guards vs. your guards will be the key to the game. Joyce, Dials, Middleton and Linhart against Payne, Ingram, Howell, and Amos. All in all, this could be a close game or Akron could blow Toledo out. Toledo seems to falter in these big games, but with Joplin's job on the line, they may pull through.Prediction:Toledo: 81Akron:
liljc
I feel like the Zips should win the game. Especially after the way each of them played, today. Whos knows? Foul trouble, a bad game shooting the ball, turnovers could all spell trouble. They could do the same for Toledo. I predict that Zips eek on out. RowdyZip
Line just up for tomorrow....Vegas thinks:Akron -3.5 Should be one helluva game folks. Sure glad I'm gonna be stuck at work till 11 at night.GO ZIPS!

Balki Bartokomous
Here is a quote from msopher on Toledo's message boards: "I hope we really kill the Zips so that I can rip on their fans for the next month!"keep dreaming. You might realize that this is the year of the Zip, not the giant dildo, or whatever your mascot used to look like before it was replaced with Kellen Winslow in a gay motorcycle outfit. liljc
I just wanna beat Toledo. It can be by one point or by twenty, I don't really care. Take 'em one game at a time and keep on knockin' 'em down.
zipsbandman
I think this is a winnable game. Toledo relies on its quickness and shooting ability. Keep in mind, this is Toledo's third game in a week. They got to be getting tired, and the second game is where the bye should start helping us. If we play smart basketball and take care of our posessions, we should do well. With the way we rebounded against western, we should have no problem in that area. It seems like several guys played well yesterday, and I look for more of a complete performance tonight.Do not forget the x-factor. We better bring an overwhelming crowd tonight. That could very well be the difference maker in this game. The rowdies need to show up in huge numbers and sit together.

Ohio and Toledo are both playing their third games of the week and second in a row. Granted we are playing our second in a row too but we had been off since Saturday. I think you may have started to see Toledo hit that wall just a little bit in the second half against NIU. Look for the Zips to come out hot and try to put Toledo away early. Valpo Zip
Prediction:Toledo: 81Akron: 79Akron allowing Toledo to score 81 ??? I thought a Ph D candidate should know better than that ! The only way Toledo can score 81 points against Akron is if we go triple over time maybe.
msopher
If Villegas and Howell get hot from 3, we could score in the 80s
Kflasher
Who in their right mind could root for Toledo ? I think this game could get ugly tonight. Here's one K ent fan that will be pulling for Akron. BTW, congrats on your big win yesterday. Welcome to the club.

Thanks, like I said to zipsbandman last night I wanted to either see Can't knocked out early or I wanted to meet them in the finals. Since you guys won yesterday I'm really rooting for you. I just wanna see how well NE Ohio will really turn out for a Can't/Akron final at the Q. Go zips and <gulp> go flushes????
zipsbandman
Oddly enough, I think a lot of Akron fans will be leaning toward Can't tonight. It's going to be a heck of an atmosphere in the Q tonight with OU bringing their crazy fans. Akron and Can't will bring their share. Toledo should also bring a nice contingent. But Akron/Can't - MAC championship gameHow bout that for a climax? It's going to happen sooner or later. Why not this year?
Balki Bartokomous
Akron V K ent in the championship game would be the best thing the MAC can hope for. OU winning the MAC tournament again would be a black eye to the confrence.
zipboy
I think Villegas is the key for Toledo. If he is on, the game will be tight. If he is not, Toledo does not have enough firepower. Man, this is the best that I have ever felt going into this big of a game.I look for Preston to step up big tonight. He played great D and did the little stuff, but his shot was off. Glad to see the Linhart of old return. Carry us through Dru, go Zips!

You shut him down and I think the rest takes care of itself.
liljc
Our Zips MUST convert the easy buckets. I can't even count how many shots they missed yesterday from within 4 or 5 feet. Convert those tonight and they'll win the game.
