Dave in Green Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 So, #1 in the final regular season coaches poll + #2 in the final regular season RPI = #5 seed is the kind of math the NCAA wants its member institutions to be teaching their student-athletes? Seriously now, has there ever in the history of the NCAA been any team in any sport with final regular season rankings of #1 in the coaches poll and #2 in RPI that ended up with a #5 seed? I think if this had ever happened in a more mainstream American sport like football, basketball or baseball that every sports media outlet would be filled with stories of outrage, and it would be a topic of conversation among sports fans across the country. skip-zip Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 Just inexplicable. What can you say? We've all seen this movie before. If we end up losing a road quarterfiinal game, someone is going to have to explain this unbelievable snub. Quote

At least when we had to play at Northwestern for no good reason, they let us call it a home game. Quote
GoZips Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 Yeah! At least when we had to play at Northwestern for no good reason, they let us call it a home game. Thanks to that game the NCAA changed the rule regarding unplayable field. Up to that time the rule allowed the lesser seeded school to host the game if they so choose to do so. No lesser seed school had ever took the advantage, always allowing the better seeded school to find a neutral field of their choice. Northwestern, bless their feeble minds, elected to enforce the rule and claim the home field. The NCAA then changed the rule. Quote
