emw12 Posted November 27, 2012 Report Posted November 27, 2012 This is from a USA today article 11/26/12...........PLAYER OF THE YEAR: QB Dalton Williams -- Passed the torch to Kyle Pohl after two series in the regular-season finale at Toledo. Williams brought life to an anemic offense with his leadership, knowledge of the spread and passing ability. He finished with 3,387 yards passing and 25 touchdowns -- a school-record for a season. Williams revitalized the program after a blowout opening week loss with numerous big performances. It's just too bad that he exhausted his eligibility. For a player without any starting experience until this year, Williams gave the rebuilding project at Akron a nice jumpstart Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted November 28, 2012 Report Posted November 28, 2012 If you're wondering where exactly this is from. Quote
LZIp Posted November 28, 2012 Report Posted November 28, 2012 I could probably agree with him being the team POY. Quote
Dr Z Posted November 28, 2012 Report Posted November 28, 2012 If you're wondering where exactly this is from. RECRUITING TRAIL: The Zips have six oral commitments, but remain in the hunt for several talented three and four-star players. I said it last year, how can you lack so much ability at QB when you just have to get the ball near Suel for him to catch it. I hope he gets a shot in somebody's camp next summer. PRO PROSPECTS: WR Marquelo Suel -- He has good speed, but lacking in height at 6-foot-1. Suel was a productive player with a one-win team, leading the Zips in receptions and receiving yards. His numbers merit attention alone. Quote
