Dave in Green
While Zeke is closing in on the MAC career record for blocked shots, I noticed in yesterday's Creighton game that Pat Forsythe had 4 blocks to 2 for Zeke. Looking at the season stats, Zeke has 29 blocks to 11 for Pat. But Zeke has played 193 minutes to 87 for Pat. Looking at the number of blocks per minute played, Zeke has .15 to Pat's .13. As a freshman, Zeke blocked at a rate of .10 per minute played, rising to .11 in his sophomore and junior seasons. So Pat is already blocking shots at a higher rate per minute played than Zeke did in his first three seasons. In other words, it's entirely possible that the biggest future threat to the MAC career shots blocked record that Zeke is due to set before this season is over may come from Zeke's backup. GP1
I like both of their games. Long term, Forsythe has the potential to be better on the offensive end with some development. He appears very comfortable with the ball in his hands. Just needs to get some shots to drop. I'm not sure what to make of the blocked shots stats. Are more teams willing to take the ball inside against Forsythe at this point opening up more opportunities? Maybe. I think a lot of teams are reluctant to challenge Zeke at this point and try to be productive in other areas. Zeke has a national reputation for blocked shots and the word may not be out yet on Forsythe being able to block shots...I take that back. The word is now out. Ham
One maddening point, Zeke altered several shots, but those high arching shots still managed to find the bottom of the net.

It looked like they actually practiced shooting over Zeke. You are correct, they were arcing the shots over him, and Zeke looked quite frustrated that he was jumping as high as he could and was not getting a piece of the ball. Good point. The MVC is a very good basketball conference with quality players of all sizes. Their players play against quality big men like Zeke far more in their conference than a MAC player would.
