Somehow the Zips have managed to draw the top three teams from the West again. Only two MAC East home games and once again don't play Buffalo. Outstanding. Ohio draws EMU, CMU and all six East teams. Yeah, this is fair. F this unbalanced scheduling. :mad_flame:

AKRON

Home: Ball State, Toledo, Can't State, Ohio;

Road: Northern Illinois, BGSU, Miami, UMass;

Ya know,stop posting like a loser. Either you compete w/ the big boys or you go home in November. If this program is progressing we will see when it plays against the top programs in the MAC. No reason to stay in the MAC if you can't compete against the top teams.

Since wins are the only "measuring stick" most people seem to care about, when you are in a rebuilding mode would you rather have our schedule or Ohio's? Just would like a relatively even playing field in scheduling in our own conference. This is not a one year phenomenon that Akron has received one of the most if not the most difficult schedules in the MAC (of course it hurts that we can't play us).

Let me say again,until you can compete against the BEST teams in the MAC then don't make excuses. The program has been 'rebuilidng' for how long now? B.S. You don't get a pass when the admisitration makes sh'''y decisions. Thats the administartion making decisions for the program. The people who whine about the schedule only perpetuate the losing mentality. Either beat the best or go home!

It's all about giving the top teams cake schedules like last year. When the strong teams run the table and get national recognition, it's good for the MAC. We saw it play out this season.

For the rest of us, "it's a long way to the top if you wanna rock and roll..."

I've always been taught you learn by playing someone better than you. Problem is last season UMess was better than us, and Buffalo and CMU would have been learning experiences.

On the other hand we gave Tenn all they could handle for awhile.

So were we playing down to our opponents (like Tress' Buckeyes), or were we so banged up we couldn't handle UMass after scaring the hell out of the Volleys earlier in the season?

If the MAC title was the first goal of the program at this point then I may agree with the statement above. The first goal for the Zips now though has to be to get to that magical 6 win total and bowl eligibility so that the team can get the extra practice time that comes with a bowl bid. In that respect the 2013 MAC schedule does indeed hurt and I'd rather play Buffalo and EMU.
