I don't know. I'm expecting a better showing than we has last year. We have improved depth, and the players have had a year in Coach Bowden's system.

I don't think UCF is supposed to be significantly better than they were last year. Winning this game is still a longshot, of course, but I think we'll like what we see.

If you want to see what UCF fans are thinking, here is the ESPN game conversation.

After reading the comments there, there seems to be a split between the Zips get blown out, or the game will be close. That is a good thing. UCF has had a ton of chaos within the last year and it remains to be seen if it will bleed over onto the field.

This is not a guanteed loss. This game, due to all of the movements Bowden has made, now becomes a question mark and they know it.

I remember last years game being a little deceiving because we turned the ball over 2 or 3 times inside the 20. Who knows how momentum changes if we dont do that? Granted, they were still a lot better football team than we were last year. Bowden has brought in so many new players it is hard to know what to expect.

I remember that too. Two of the turnovers were towards the very begining of the game, one on a Jawon Chisholm fumble and the other on another fumble by DW13? I don't rememeber the second one that much. But UCF scored 14 dumbster points. Not to mention our offense looked pretty shaky most of the game: I'm sure this will be much closer of a game this year.

It was Dee Friesen on a return attempt and Chisholm that both fumbled inside our 10. It seemed to me our offense and defense played better than I expected depite the score. Our return game was attrocious, however, and O'leary didn't holster the guns early either.

Playing UCF reminds me of the 2003 game at the Rubber Bowl. Akron was the dog, of course, and UCF entered the field between the white gates near the visitors sewer (locker room). They had some guy going nuts thowing f bombs so I yelled out 'UCF has no class!'. I was about 5 feet from their starting linebacker and he walks over to me and says - 'What did you say!' I repeated the no class comment and pointed to the kids looking on while their team was screaming pofanities before the opening kickoff. Thankfully he walked away (may have even appologised) as I thought I was going to be dragged out on the field to a stomp a Zips fan party. We won that game by the way with class.

Watch out for the Zips this year UCF fans. if Major Reisman (look it up) can keep this group together, we may make some noise.

Your so right. I had a field pass that day. A LOT of trash talking from the UCF team. Heard a couple of real zingers on the field. :D

No early line on the game yet. But here are some early lines from that day, plus more. Released by the Golden Nugget.
