Locking up KD and JD

They've got JD a solid extension-- have they done the same for KD? They fact that he WANTS to stay at Akron should not be held against him! It should be rewarded! UA should be making a commitment to keep him in the top 3 or 4 of MAC coaches and lay out a long term staying bonus. Any news on this?

During the halftime of the Spring game, they interviewed Mack. He said at the top of his priority list at the moment was 1. Finding an assistant AD and women's BB coach, 2. Locking up JB and KD to long term deals, and 3. A new football stadium.I would think you would like to get a coach hired before the end of the semester and the current players scatter for the summer.

I would really hope that they give KD a great deal. You hit the nail on the head when you said "KD WANTS to be here". I hope UA doesn't take advantage of that thinking they've got him "locked" so why not get him cheaply. I heard KD was the lowest paid coach in the MAC. I would really like to see the numbers. UA finally has a great thing going, I hope they do what it takes to keep KD here for a long time.

I do not remember seeing anywhere that JD signed an extension, only that they were working on an extension. Hard to believe that a deal has been struck and nothing has been released by Akron's sports news office. Must be some kink in the deal.

Sorry, I mis-spoke...I thought the JD deal was done. They also need to do this in a way that they both are happy-- UA doesn't need a repeat of Huggins vs Faust. It would be great if they got creative and structured deals that really rewarded success and longevity.
