bmaker Posted August 31, 2013 Report Posted August 31, 2013 Is it safe to assume that since no one has mentioned the score yet that it is nil - nil? Quote
Dave in Green Posted August 31, 2013 Report Posted August 31, 2013 Zips lead shots 19-5 but no score. Quote
GoZips88 Posted August 31, 2013 Report Posted August 31, 2013 Red card on CoC. Zips play man up for last 20 minutes. Quote
GoZips88 Posted August 31, 2013 Report Posted August 31, 2013 Akron now up 2-0 with 3 minutes to go. Corner kick off of CoC player. Quote
Dave in Green Posted August 31, 2013 Report Posted August 31, 2013 As always, the Zips looked good controlling the ball. But you soccer experts are going to have to tell me if I am wrong to be concerned that they couldn't score against this opponent until after the red card. Quote
Jalapeño Zippy Posted August 31, 2013 Report Posted August 31, 2013 We controlled the flow of the game, we were patient and we outshot them by quite a bit. They were packing in the defense like I joked earlier playing 9 defenders and 1 forward it seemed hoping for a quick counter from a clear. They almost got us a couple of times which at this level should be expected. Our players seem to hold onto the ball a little more under Embick. The focus is still two touch soccer but it appears the players have more freedom to try and create on their own. Quote

Zips lacked quality in the final third. On the bright side, things really picked up when Matt Foldesy entered the fray. His assist was sublime. Quote
