liljc
Hixon goes to Denver in the 4 th round. Pick number 130 overall. Good luck in the Mile High City !
Kangaroo Craig
I'm not surprised by that. JD and Coach Shanahan are good friends. JD probably convinced him that Hixon was a good value pick in the fourth round.

zipsbandman
Wow fourth round! That's great! Just another zip in the nfl to help sell our program to recruits.

Dan Kadar
Here is a story about Hixon getting picked. It's nothing really new to any of us.
Zipsrifle
Congrats to Dom. JT, Dwight, Charlie....I think Akron is capable of producing one draft pick a year. BTW, I noticed that there were two other, rather early MAC draft picks. I don't remember what the guy's name is, but NIU had a great lineman that was supposed to be 1st round material earlier in the season....I didn't see his name mentioned. Any info on this? Dan Kadar
Zipsrifle, Greg Jennings of Western got picked fairly early. Any other year, he probably would have gone a round or two later. But with this year being an awful year for receivers, he kind of lucked out. Then, Western's TE Tony Scheffler went at the end of the second. I think Hixon was the next MAC player selected after them. The NIU lineman you might be thinking of is Doug Free. Unfortunately, he's came back for NIU this season. To me, he's probably the best player in the MAC and easily one of the top 10 offensive tackles in the nation.I agree with you in the thought that Zip could be drafted every year. Next year it'll probably be Getsy and maybe Kiki or Crouch. Then in a couple years maybe Kennedy, Kasparek, Nate Robinson and Kevin Grant. MRasor0200
Domenik Hixon might be the nicest guy in the world. I guarantee his high character and work ethic played a part in him going in the fourth. Before the draft, Hixon was training from early in the morning to late at night. He was on a six-meal-a-day diet, too.He will be a good receiver in the NFL. I just wish he was playing for Cleveland.p.s. Dan Kadar knows more miscellany about the NFL Draft than Mel Kiper. I tried telling them that at the bank today but they seemed very confused. I repeated it a couple of times and they threatened to call the cops on me. Not sure why. I forgot to add "with a gun." If you simply repeat "Andy Alleman will be drafted next year" to a teller...no gun...you will just get blank stares.
