fknbuflobo Posted September 15, 2013 Report Posted September 15, 2013 It was very fitting that Eric Stevenson won it in 2OT. He was one of the few Zips having a good tournament. Well done E! Quote

TennZip Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 http://www.ohio.com/news/break-news/colleg...me-win-1.429126 the goal given up.....was super, super sloppy...they really missed Bryan Gallego today....hope he is able to recover quickly I thought that the midfielders played much too near midfield when the zips had the ball near the goal... many times, it seemed that Najem and Souto were near midfield and the 3 forwards were battling 8 defenders to score did Saad play in the 2nd half? I was impressed by Ismail Seremba on Friday night and he played a lot fewer minutes today Quote

I was impressed by Ismail Seremba on Friday night and he played a lot fewer minutes today I haven't been impressed by Souders this year. While he is extremely good on the tackle, I get nervous every time he has possession under any sort of pressure... I haven't seen a replay, but it looked to me like Souders was most at fault for the goal - although the ball really should have been cleared long before. Overall I thought Cross looked pretty solid, and I'd like to see Embick pair Gallego and Cross in the back. Saad walked to the tunnel at the half slowly with a trainer. Can only assume he did not play the second half because he picked up a knock, he look very threatening in the first half. Hope it is nothing more than a knock, if he continues playing the way he has he will be a key player. Quote
Ando Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 Saad started on the right wing. Played 45. Was replaced by Seremba, who played the remainder. Quote

Gravatt played the ball square to Pina, which was already questionable in a tight space. Pina then played a veritable hospital ball square to Souders. Aztecs pounced. Pina was the only one with the vantage point of seeing the entire field. He should have seen the Aztec press, one-touched that ball for a ride. If over the touch-line, then so be it! That is my recollection of events. It was disgusting to witness. Souders is a tackling machine, and he wins almost every head ball. His passes, especially back to GK, are sometimes shaky. This may be a moot point, because I suspect that Bryan Gallego is going to miss significant time before returning. Louis Cross/Andrew Souders tandem will likely see at least a few matches. Quote
Ando Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 Souders kinda reminds me of Brandon McDonald in that regard - a pretty strong centerhalf without the ball, but his distribution is a little blerghasdasaafasfsa In terms of building from the back, though, Pina's distribution is pretty good. Much better kicker than Meves ever was, though the command/shot stopping is maybe not quite there yet Quote
