fknbuflobo
They are improving, and we are regressing. Even so, if we lose, albeit on the road, to CSU, things will get VERY UGLY. Crew8, where to meet?

Crew8, where to meet? Becky's Bar is directly across the street. The only other place within walking distance is the new Parnell's Irish Pub on Euclid Ave.

I say Becky's, it's closer.

Ando
playwright/football club analogies, By Ando Shakespeare is Barca circa 2010 - Technically flawless and pretty obviously the best if we're being honest, but hearing about it all the time gets tiring Arsenal is probably Marlowe - aspires for brilliance but perhaps lacking in execution Spurs is Ben Jonson - Mostly famous for being worse than everyone who matters unfortuneatley that's it, I've exhausted my knowledge of Jacobean writers
Dave in Green
Holy crap, it takes the first two goals ever scored by Zips freshman Adam Najem to beat Cleveland State 2-1. Talk about living on the edge ...

Talk about living on the edge ... Najem scored twice in his Akron debut against Marshall? I guess it was preseason though... I thought it was a solid performance overall, CSU only got one back near the end when our defense apparently thought the game was already over and got sloppy. I am disappointed that we don't seem capable of completely blowing smaller teams away like we used to, but it was a solid win. I don't have very high expectations for this season, Embick has some big shoes to fill...

I don't have very high expectations for this season, Embick has some big shoes to fill... Let me tell you of expectations. I EXPECT to win the MAC Tournament every single year, and the automatic NCAA Tournament bid that comes along with doing so. Period! Until conference membership changes dramatically, the MAC will remain a second-tier soccer league. And! It! Is! Ours! I EXPECT to beat MAC teams at home, especially squads that do not even have a winning record. Every time! No exceptions! I EXPECT to earn a first round bye to the NCAA Tournament in most, if not every, year. Must have NCAA Tournament matches at home! I EXPECT dominating football! Passion, Poise, and Purpose! I EXPECT a team who EXPECTS to win! I EXPECT some of the best and brightest youngsters on the continent to fall all over each other to sign here. Akron is among the oldest collegiate soccer programs in the country; we are approaching 60 years. There is a great tradition here. No program has more indirect funding or better facilities. A few programs have as good, but none have better. “Possession without penetration is just masturbation, and right now, the Zips are just playing with themselves!”

Let's get going. We can do it! The NCAA selection committee is really going to have a hard time this year seeding the top 16 teams this year as there does not appear to be one or two dominant teams this year. the soccer coaches have Notre Dame ranked #2 this week. Right now, Notre Dame has only won 60% of their games. Notre Dame is 6-0-4 in their 10 games. The soccer coaches have North Carolina ranked #12 this week. Right now, North Carolina has only won 25% of their games. North Carolina right now has a record of 3-2-5.

TennZip
Hartwick defeated West Virginia tonight 1-0 to move to 2-0 in the league. Akron will need to stay perfect the rest of the way in the MAC and Hartwick will have 1 loss and 1 tie for Akron to host the league tourney
