Watching Your Team on Google Chromecast

As long as you have an internet connection, you are able to watch games shown on the internet on a big tv with Chromecast. You will need Google Chromecast. Hook it up to a HDMI tv. You have to use the web browser google chrome on a computer to broadcast sites that are showing the game on the internet to it. You need to enable UPnP (Universal Plug n Play) on your router to make it work consistently. Follow the directions in the Chromcast box or you can go here. One of the best advantages is that you can put this on any tv and not worry about running wires to it. In the garage, in your workshop, in your gazebo, your only limited by the distance of your wifi signal and power. If one were savy enough, you could use this at a tailgate. Here is a better explanation on how this little device works. There are more advantages, but I'll just mention the one that pertains to ZN looking to broadcast games to their big screen. Reading this back, it's not a very good explanation, if someone else is doing the same, feel free to explain better.

Thanks Dr. Z! I was thinking about finding something that did this o I can watch the Zips on my TV rather than my laptop screen. I guess my biggest concern is that most times on the computer it's not the best quality...if it's on the TV it'd be worse wouldn't it?

From my experience, not worse. I would almost say slightly better. I will also mention, I have high speed cable for my provider. It's a nice $35 media player solution with limited capabilities. Perfect for this one solution imo. For advanced tailgaters, I read if you have an unlimited data LTE plan on your phone, and a wireless travel router, the possibilities are there.

Google Chromecast is a nice, new, inexpensive device for streaming wirelessly to your TV. But if your TV is close to your computer as mine is, or if you have a laptop you can place near your TV, a simple HDMI cable connection between the two will generally produce more reliable results than wireless and with fewer limitations than Google. With a fast internet connection, some internet streams are virtually indistinguishable from HDTV while some are lower quality and choppier. Even a lower-quality webcast on a big screen TV beats watching on a small computer monitor when something is only available on the internet and not on cable TV.
