Captain Kangaroo
Does this affect Nick Dials' transfer plans? Click to Say Goodbye
Z-Pouch
The funny thing about this is that people will be or act surprised that this occurs at major colleges. At that level, the pressure to win and win now is so high and so much money surrounds these programs. Think about the gate of millions of dollars at an OSU football game (and that is only tickets) or the need to fill a 20k basketball arena for 14 games. It has to be almost impossible to resist the temptation to kick in alittle to get that coveted recruit. The fact that OBrien (who seemed to be a straight arrow) couldn't handle it makes you wonder who can at that level. I'd go as far to say would it actually surprise anyone if Tressel strays from the path at ome point after a couple of bad seasons and the need to get back on top. Who knows, some 5th or 6th place finishes and anything is posssible ? Then again, he did come out of the Clarett thing pretty good -- I guess you just dont notice the cars, the clothes and the money your star 19 yr old RB has. Hmmm. Back to OBrien, Did anyone else read the story, look at the timeframes and say to themselves " How the hell did this stay out of the news this long ? " and also wonder how many more of these stories just dont get covered because it's not in the best interests of all the people and business's making money off of them. Or the fans that bury their heads in the sand and would be happy to watch a National Championship game or Final Four no matter how they got there. Just my two cents. RatFink
What kind of a moron blows a $900,000 a year job? Z-POUCH you are exactly right. The pressure is intense at that level to win. Win at all costs. O'Brien and Tressel have given the Suckeyes exactly what they paid for. A (sic) meaningless quasi-national championship in football and a final four appearance using a kid that by all standards and their own admissions was ineligible. And the fans cheered on. And the fans cheered on. Remember this deceit and chicanery when Suckeye fans taunt you with their jeers of their so called accomplishments. They accomplished only shame and disgrace. Frankly, Ohio State needs a death penality for three or four years in football and basketball to clean out the fetid stench O'Brian AND Tressel have brought to them. Eventually more will come out about Claret and others that will poison OSU's football reputation. Tressel escaped the filth he left behind at YSU, he won't be so lucky this time. And the Suckeye fans cheered on.
Zip Watcher
Several friends of mine who are loyal OSU fans don't understand how I can root against the Suckeyes in every situation, being born & raised in OH. My simple answer for years has been: The Suckeyes are the best representation of everything that's wrong with college sports today. While I am surprised to hear about Jim OB's indescretion & termination (I know no details as I write this), it doesn't surprise me that the lack of institutional control continues at Columbus Teck. Captain Kangaroo
Bryan Hipsher was seen exiting this car outside the JAR yesterday. Has Dambrot "pulled an O'Brien" and tossed a few extra "G's" Bryan's way to ensure B Hip's return in 2004-5?
Z-Pouch
Cmon now, that's just a friends car that he is borrowing while his is in the shop. Put you head back in the sand With that smooth jumper and ability to D up, I'm surprised he couldn't borrow a little better. If the Board Hall of Fame Posts ever gets started, the Captain's "BHip's car" has my vote. The BHip stuff never gets old. I cant wait to break out my authentic BHip jersey and school the captain in the JAR game.

Guest Guest_Z.I.P.
On a just slightly more serious note, I did hear that BH was recruited by some name schools (possibly even Ball St) to play volleyball. At his size I'm not sure if he could play the middle, maybe outside. Just a thought... Anyone like IMYT have any insight? Brian's sucha totally cool dude, I have to wish him all the best. Oh Hell -- I love ya man!!! Can a brotha have a little room?
Guest zipalomg
All of you are forgetting that Bhip was not on an athletic schol and as long as Dhip is till on the payroll he is a Zip. I don't see KD telling him he is not on the team, bad PR. I'm not saying he'll play him a lot, but as long as DHip is at UofA, I'm sure BHip will be there. I_Miss_You_Trey_71603
Well maybe Dan is going somewhere since he is putting his house up for sale and all. Andy is looking to go to graduate school. Maybe Bryan will stay and be on the team.
