LosAngelesZipFan
I'm on my way to an MJ camp right now on the UCSB campus (long story, here under protest), but got me to thinking about why LeBron moved his camp from UA and if there is a chance it will return... had to be good for KD to have at UA... anyone know anything? ZachTheZip
Doubt it. Nike rules the day, and they want it in Vegas.
Dave in Green
If LeBron wants his camp back in Akron, he can make it happen.
LosAngelesZipFan
Totes. LeBron rules the roost. It needs to be back at ua.Btw the thunderdome, where the gauchos play, is scarily similar to the jar. Same era, same stupid design. About 5500 seats. Upper deck a bit better designed close to floor and seat backs but roll back. Man we need a new arena.
Balsy
Gee I wonder how many of the LeBron camp kids would be remotely interested in playing for the Zips after looking at/playing in the JAR.
skip-zip
Gee I wonder how many of the LeBron camp kids would be remotely interested in playing for the Zips after looking at/playing in the JAR.I think we can all agree that the JAR is probably not used as a recruiting tool...other than the player lounges.
LZIp
So there is a strong rumor that Lebron will be at the OSU-Va Tech game this weekend. Huge recruiting tool for them. Seems like its becoming an annual thing. What do we need to do to get him to attend some football games?
Dr Z
What do we need to do to get him to attend some football games?Your realize he has attended many Akron football games right? Somewhere on this site, I have a photo of him at the Info on the sidelines throwing a football around. So you mean more games? If you were LBJ, would you wanted to be spotted on the sidelines with i"coach"? I would agree he needs to be brought into the Bowden fold in some capacity. He has to want that though. OSU-Va Tech is a fun big game. When Akron has a big fun game (mac championship, bowl, big opponent), I would guess he would want to be there. LZIp
Him attending games many years ago or not wanting to attend games because Ianello has nothing to do with my post, nor was it meant to be taken as a shot at Lebron. My post is concerning the present and morr of a "the powers that be" need to get it in gear. OSU knows how to use him, it's time we follow suit. Marshall and BG seem like some fun games to attend this season and some games where recruits will be in attendance. He isn't going to go to Detroit to watch us play in a MAC championship or Mobile for a bowl game.
Dave in Green
The LeBron-tOSU marketing connection is so obvious it's smacking everyone upside the head:LeBron James Is The NBA's Leading Shoe Salesman (hint: it's all about the money)Just doing it: Ohio State, Nike extend $46 million, brand-building agreements (hint: it's all about the money)Nike Store (hint: there's no Akron Zips apparel to be found at the Nike Store, and no money being generated by UA for Nike)And finally, for anyone who may have missed all those smacks upside the head, it's all about the money.
