bobbyake
Who's excited to watch the Browns this year?? I am. I can't wait. I'm almost as excited about the Browns as I am for the Zips. It seems like a lot of NFL sportswriters have doubt in his ability. I can't wait to see if Frye proves them wrong.
Kangaroo Craig
I agree, but it is going to ba a little bit tougher for him now that his best lineman LeCharles Bentley has been lost for the season with a torn patella tendon. He injured it on the very first play of the first practice. Kenny Roda, a local sportstalk host in Cleveland calls it the OIC Jinx. OIC stands for Only In Cleveland. GP1
At this point, I normally throw in a nasty point like......enjoy another 6-10 season Cleveland, but I won't. After what happened yesterday, I just can't do that. So, I'll leave all you Browns fans with this comment. Enjoy another 5-11 season Cleveland. Valpo Zip
Bentley going down is the worst thing that could happen to Frye and the Browns... too bad, nothing ever works out in Cleveand. I am personnally going through one of the most boring summers (thanks to the indians) and now the browns took a hit. I hope Danny Ferry will start shaking things a bit in the Q. Dan Kadar
I was out at training camp yesterday morning to catch a minute with Charlie for a story. He looked pretty good and much bigger than he was during his Akron days. Of course everyone was a little bummed out about Bentley, though. I would accept 2-14 if both victories were against Pittsburgh and especially if it cost them the playoffs.
GP1
I would accept 2-14 if both victories were against Pittsburgh and especially if it cost them the playoffs. In a really good sports town, fans don't think like this. In a good sports town, like Pittsburgh, people say, "I would accept losing twice to the Browns as long as they were the only two loses and we ended the season 14-2 with home field throughout the playoffs and a chance to win the Super Bowl." That's how winners think. I'd be miserable if the Steelers only won two games in a single season even if they were against the Browns. By the way, the Ravens are the Steelers #1 rival, not the Browns.
bobbyake
The Ravens are the Steelers #1 rival? are you kidding me???? The Steelers-Browns is one of the biggest rivalries in the NFL. Remember how many times they both duked it out in the playoffs. That time the Browns were kicking the Steelers butt but then all of a sudden lost it. Every Browns fan hates a Steelers fan and every Steelers fan is bitter about Browns fans. We hate each other. Saying the Ravens are the Steelers #1 rival is like saying Akron's #1 rival is Miami, or that the Browns #1 rival is the Bengals.
GP1
The Ravens are the Steelers #1 rival? are you kidding me???? No.Who else would it be? They've been rivals with that team for decades.
bobbyake
I honestly think your just saying this because Charlie Frye plays for the Browns and you want him to do good despite him being a Brownie. The Raven's aren't the Colts even if it's Baltimore. I actually think the ravens should be playing in the AFC East and that Buffalo should be in the Central. But Buffalo has rivalries with the Jets and especially New England. But I think a Ravens vs Patriots rival sounds better.

Wherever they hear anything about the Browns, they have to say something to bash them. Browns fans do this about the Steelers too. it's instinct. Since the Browns come back in 99, I think the Browns have only won twice.Good competition makes for good rivals, plus the proximity in cities. Competion has lacked for a decade.Maybe it will be back some day.One of my favorite quotes about the Steelers Browns came from Chris Spielman in an SI article when askedabout an upcoming game. Paraphrasing: SI Writer, you played in OSU vs Michigan and Browns vs Steelers, what is a bigger rivalry game? Chris, neither compare to McKinley vs Massillon. liljc
This isn't supposed to be about the f-ing Steelers. God, I hate that ass backward part of the country!Charlie is gonna have a much more difficult season because of the injury to Lecharles, for certain. There's something about Charlie , though, I feel like he'll be fine, anyway. I don't think they are gonna win very many games. Hell, I thought 8-8 was about their limit if the o-line stayed healthy. Now, who knows? I look for Charlie to throw this team on his back and be the leader that they have been looking for since they came back into the league. I sure hope I am right. fear the brown roo
charlie is going to be fine. there is just something about him. unfortunately for him he's never had the best talent around him, unlike that idiot who planted his face in a windshield. anyone who saw charlie his freshman year against ohio knows that he'll do well in any situation he's put in. as far as pittspuke goes, piss on them. they got nothing else in the rusted out dump to be happy about so let them have their precious steelers. ever notice that when you see someone driving all over the road and being an idiot, they usually have PA plates on the car? worst drivers i've ever seen. just an observation. fear the brown roo
there's nothing worse than a steeler fan in northeast ohio. i've never once seen a browns flag or bumper sticker in pittspuke. at least they know who their hometown team is, even if they can't drive worth a damn. Zips Win!
I've been away on vacation and just read the post. Go away Steeler fans, especially GP1 when it comes to posting on this topic. I've been to games in Pittsburgh.........they are a bunch of a-holes and sore losers when their team is losing. Cheering when opponents get hurt......... and they leave the stadium as well when their team doesn't cross their opponents 40 yard line. I've seen it.So you choose to root for a team with a winning tradition......no problem. Stop bashing a bunch of die hards who root for the home town team, even though they do not have the same winning tradition.
