GP1 Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 Have had success running left. Seem to have blocking scheme figured out. Run left. Quote
LosAngelesZipFan Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 I don't understand that call at all-- a pitch to Hundley w the entire BG team stacked on the line? He's not that kind of runner. Terrible play call. Quote

Terrible play call.Overall I am very displeased with 3rd down calls tonight. I dont mind that actual play call, but not with that personnel (aka Hundley). Quote
LosAngelesZipFan Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 Exactly. One of the things that is really obvious to me over the course of the season is how much a mobile QB that is a genuine run threat would add to things. During the PSU game there were a bunch of opportunities for Pohl to run and pick up major yards, but he clearly had been told not to do it-- I thought so he wouldn't get injured. Then, in the Ohio game, Woodson had an obvious run opportunity at one point but pulled back and threw into coverage. Please, more of that triple threat backfield. Do that until it doesn't work. Quote
ZippyRulz Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 Too many drops, too many punts. Quote
LZIp Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 this clock management is damn inexcusable. Its happened multiple times this year in these situations. WHY NOT SPIKE IT AND TAKE A SHOT AT THE ENDZONE TO END THE HALF?!? Quote
Balsy Posted November 5, 2014 Author Report Posted November 5, 2014 Last play as the drive, this is why people question Pohl. Quote
LosAngelesZipFan Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 soooo....you have limited time and run Hundley up the middle? Quote
Balsy Posted November 5, 2014 Author Report Posted November 5, 2014 You don't spike it because it was 4th down. Quote

LosAngelesZipFan Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 good lord, what horrible clock mgmt. total disarray. Quote
Balsy Posted November 5, 2014 Author Report Posted November 5, 2014 Pohl needs to be a commanding QB. He didn't get the first down, time ticking down. You run up to the line (who was already lining up) and you snap the ball and throw a hailmary to any WR running down the field. If people want to know why the coaches question Pohl, this why. Quote
Balsy Posted November 5, 2014 Author Report Posted November 5, 2014 I like having Pohl back, but under pressure you gotta step up. Pohl is not stepping up under pressure. So far pohl under pressure in this game = Interception, clock runs out of time. Need better play second half. Quote
msee92 Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 Seems to take a loooong time to get an offensive play in from the sidelines - that whole process needs to move faster. Quote
GP1 Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 My only beef with play calling is they had some success running to the left between the center and tackle. They seem to have the defense blocked. Let's get back to that. Running right has been too difficult and they aren't getting everyone blocked.I have no problem with the pass plays called. More passes over the middle. Need to do a better job of catching. I know it's raining, but this is a big game and guys need to produce in big games if we are ever going to become anything other than pretenders. 1 Quote

Snap the ball, and throw it to any receiver streaking towards the endzone. Quote

LZIp Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 if it was 4th down, then i have no issue with how the half ended. My mistake. Quote
Buckzip Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 The offense looks terrible. Maybe put in Woodson just to run. Quote
LZIp Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 Same old Zips. Huge student turnout and lay an egg. Depressing. Quote
flipthezip Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 At least it was the first ball thrown Pratt's way all night that was caught. Get it together Zips! 1 Quote
GP1 Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 Announcers make it sound like it is impossible to pass. 10 miles away, Toledo has three TD passes. Quote
Buckzip Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 The Akron offense can't do anything. Quote
